Was linking a news article, did not know that was a crime. ...

It isn't, but I'm not sure if it's a crime to link to the same article twice in the same thread. You had already linked to it on the 11th, shortly after it came out. ;)

Beechcroft player tried to do the same as Mike Mitchell at the end of last night's playoff loss to Steubenville. The result was what sounds like a terrible brawl during post-game handshakes between both teams that spanned almost the entire 100 yards of the field.

Very disturbing end to any contest, and especially a High School Play-off game. My personal opinion is that such an act on a kneel down is quite unsportsmanlike at any level, and is a disregard to the safety of yourself and others.

Not the NFL, but Chip Cox is playing right now for Montreal in the CFL game on ESPN. http://en.montrealalouettes.com/roster/show/id/1567

Glad they activated Bates! Who knows, maybe Gordon has played his last game as a Brown. He needs to get his head on straight. If he does, the Browns will keep him. But I don't think the current regime in Cleveland has the patience to deal with a malcontent wide receiver, no matter how talented.

Bates did not travel with the team to Baltimore and is ruled out for the game. Guess I fail to understand that move to the 53 man roster if you can't play.

My guess is the NFLPA requires a 53-man roster. And since Bates makes less than Gordon seems like a reasonable move.

Actually has a lot of "selfish" intrest on the Browns part. Gordon is now DENIED a years service and is not not eligible for FA for another year. Don't think any NFL team ever does anything without examining the $$$$$

Finally and good for the Browns if that's true! Like Terry Pluto wrote in today's Plain Dealer, Gordon only has himself to blame. If he merely showed up for practice yesterday this wouldn't be an issue. The Browns have stunk for a TON of reasons since 1999, one of which is because they tolerated bad behavior from their most talented players. If they are ending that pattern then good for them. Gordon has only himself to blame.

I think you're both right. I'm sure the front office was just waiting for a chance to deprive Gordon of unrestricted free agency. And Gordon was stupid/childish/irresponsible (take your pick) enough to hand it to them on a silver platter.

The Gordon people and the NFLPA will win the appeal on this. Gordon screws team, but will get his way.

Donte Foster has signed a reserve/futures contract with the Vikings.

Players who were not on a team's active roster at the end of the regular season, including the practice squad, are eligibile to be signed for 2015 even though the league year does not begin until March.

Is there any money in this type of contract? Or is this a "rights" thing?

Lavon worked out for the Chiefs this week. Looks as if his year in football purgatory might be ending. Hopefully, he can stay off the weed.

It's really both. There has to be some cash to make it an enforceable contract. Donte gets a minimum amount of money and the Vikes get his future rights. It takes effect at the beginning of the league year. It doesn't guarantee Donte a spot on the team, but he'll be in spring camp. They at least think enough of Donte to try and keep other teams from picking him up, and may have plans for him for next year.

Congrats to Landon Cohen, who is on his way to the Super Bowl. Landon saw the field today and was credited with 1 hit (NOT a sack) on Aaron Rodgers.
