Well, I was wrong. We are only up 21 and it is still the 3rd. I'm shocked. I hope this works

I didn’t think they’d read my email until after the game. 😂😂

Don’t pull the starters until they do.

They’ve got Somanza still going deep. No reason to go easy on them. Drop 50 on their head.

It’s been a long time since Ohio has shown a killers instinct- we win most of the time when we slow it down but not always

Pulling starters in a 21 point game in the 3rd quarter isn't smart regardless of what Tim Albin says.

I get that the game is probably in hand and that he wants to protect from injuries but make sure there's no doubt of a comeback first. Since taking Navarro out, the Cardinals had a chance to make it a 14 point game with over 10 minutes remaining and now getting the ball at midfield due to a botched exchange.

I say this as someone who respects what Albin has done with this squad.

They won't pull their starters. 🤣 But even with Poulas fumble....the backups need reps just in case a starter goes down. And we don't need any significant injuries before Detriot. But I do get what you mean though.

P.S. - Glad to see McCormick get carries. Definitely a guy you want in your program.

Hopefully that fumble puts it out of reach, but they could easily only be down 1 score right now if Ball State could stop getting in their own way.

Yep, it's likely over now but we were one play away from this being a game again and that's why the decision to put the backups in that early is the wrong choice.

I agree but that's not the point. When you have the chance to finish off an opponent, you go for the kill shot. Then, you can cruise the rest of the way with your backups. Ohio put them in a little too early.

The backups delivered the kill shot, no problem.

Kickoff coverage and false starts are the only real bad points today.

Ball State had two attempts at making it a 14 point game with 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Majority of head coaches would say that's too early to put the backups in, especially in college football where crazy things happen all of the time.

I politely disagree while understanding your point. To me, Ball State is the perfect game to do this in. If this were 2 games ago, I would say no. Too close to the championship for a 4th quarter injury to a major starter.

That's fair and I understand the logic behind it. At the end of the day, it worked out fine so it doesn't matter. Just happy to get the win and have another chance against Miami in Detroit!

I still remember that in 2006, Ohio went to the MACC with a QB with a bad ankle. Injuries can happen.

Ball State still throwing.

Goofball dancing down 3 TD with 2 min left.

Definitely. Probably one of the biggest injuries in our program.

Everson’s injury was also in “garbage time” as I recall.

Yeah, that dance was pretty cheap. When you're down 21 in the 4th quarter, save that kind of stuff for the sideline. Back in the day, one of the defensive players would have pointed to the scoreboard.

On to Detroit for the rematch with MOFO.

Wasn't Theo Scott banged up for the 2009 MACC? I remember dreading seeing Tettleton come into games that year.

Yes, Bower and Febus played most of the MACC game in 2006, Tettleton some played in 2009, and Harris played all of it in 2022. I have no problem at all with pulling Navarro.
