Try re-re-reading things.

http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-football/odds/las-vegas/line-movement/ohio-@-bowling-green-state.cfm/date/11-04-15/time/2000

But if you need help...EVERY VEGAS CASINO WITH "AN ACTUAL GUY" (except the Wynn who adjusted to 18 within 6 hrs) HAD IT AT 18 AT LEAST...WITH THE MAJORITY AT 19 OR MORE.

MGM/Mirage, Caesars/Harrahs, Peppermill, Stratosphere, Treasure Island, Atlantis, Golden Nugget.

But hey, I'm wrong.

Whatever.

Vegas got it right

You're tiresome.

You may have not watched BG play...but you can sure discredit my opinion that they are a good MAC team after I've watched them for the better part of 8 weeks.

Situation, I love your passion and I wish I was as optimistic about Ohio's chances tonight as you are! Hey, stranger things have happened.

Also being a Browns fans, this week could be REAL UGLY for me. Yikes........

Last night not withstanding, toss in a grueling Blue Jacket West Coast trip and you are inhabiting my world right now. Oh, and then there is the 4 inches of leaves on my yard to distract me, too. At least we don't have to fit in a football game outing this Saturday. Thank you, ESPN.

The Wynn opened on 11/1 at +14.

Of all the casinos you listed above, only the Atlantis opened before the Wynn (3 hours earlier).

The Stratosphere opened the same day but two hours later.

And the rest of the casinos on your list opened the next day.

Why is the timing important?

These allegedly "brilliant minds" watch how the sharks move the line on the initial guesses and then set their line accordingly 12+ hours later. You don't need an algorithm or single spreadsheet to set a spread after 12 hours on the market.

You are wrong.

You have missed my point again.

I have not said they're a bad team.

My language has been precise. BG has yet to prove they're a good team.

I'd hardly consider a record of 0-1 against teams with a winning record an accomplishment. I'd hardly consider six wins against teams with losing records an accomplishment.

The funny thing is, if OU is as bad as you say they are, then BG still hasn't proved anything after tonight.

If my life depended on it I would pick BG to cover.

These posts aren't about my optimism for tonight.

This is a mind numbing discussion. Ohio will get killed tonight. I hope I'm wrong, but the rational side of my brain says to to lay one mortgage payment on BG -21 and the game over 65.5. It's a good thing I'm not in Vegas again until the NIU game. I hate betting against OU.

I agree that it's a mind numbing discussion, and pointless. Let's let the kids play tonight, and see what happens.

As far as the point spreads, the casinos open the line. They don't "correct the line" because they decide they were wrong. They simply move the line in response to where the money comes in. They could care less who wins. They only care if they make money. At 14 most of the money was betting on BG, so the line moved to 21. At 21 enough money is coming in on Ohio to offset the early money on BG, and presumably it has equalized, or they would move the line some more.

I hope the game is 2-0 so the randomness of the universe can humble us all.

I hope the safety comes with. the BG QB standing at the 4-yard line.

+1

This is mind numbing. Should've stuck to the Mark Twain quote:

"Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.”

For what it's worth I see that the consensus on the over-under has moved up as well, and now is at 68. Thus the bookies expected BG to win by the score of 38-24, but the bettors are expecting a BG win by 44-24.

45-24 is what I've seen Vegas put it at.

I'm still thinking more 63-14

The only over/under number I care about is the hour at which I am comfortable enough with the outcome to go to bed and, hopefully, it isn't 9:00 PM. Some of us have to work for a living, though.

It's just rounding. With a 68.5 over/under and 20.5 spread, technically it is 44.5-24. I just rounded down to 44, and you rounded up to 45.

One group of BA posters or the other is going to be eating crow tomorrow. My head tells me we lose bad while my heart says we stick in there with them. I just can't see us scoring enough to stay close but hope springs eternal.

Go Bobcats!

I hope like hell I am wrong....I will happily go to an all-you-can-eat crow buffet. There's nothing more I'd like to see than us go out there and win...or at least be super competitive.

But, like you, I just have a hard time envisioning that. Based on the last two games...the last three years...vs. good MAC teams...vs. good MAC teams on the road.....and vs. BG this millennium (5-9 overall since 2000...0-3 last 3 yrs.....and shockingly 1-6 at Peden)

That's a lot to overcome in my book.

Wow. Great opening drive, so let's run Daz down the middle. The announcers are even questioning our play calling.

It is like we want to lose!!!

Horrible coaching. Horrible play calling. No athletes. No depth. No team speed. No play makers. No size. No strength. This is a bad bad team.

More dumb and stupid from the players and the coaches. Story of the season. Its not the injuries. Its been dumb and stupid penalties and plays all season long. This team is among the most talented in school history, yet were getting blown out every week because he commit stupid penalties. Nice job by Vick to take us out of field goal range. We take a delay penalty but had two timeouts at the time. Then an unsportsmanlike penalty on the QB to take out of field goal range. This are seniors making these bonehead plays.

Last night, NIU had 3rd and 39 and converted on a 50-yd pass.
Tonight, we have 3rd and 18 from about the same spot on the field and run a QB draw for about seven yds.
BG has one of the worst pass Ds in the country, so we need to challenge them.

We had an open receiver for a touchdown but Vick overthrew it by 5 yards so we did challenge it was a piss poor throw.

WILL THE APOLOGISTS TELL US NOW HOW THIS WAS ONE OF THE GREAT CALLS OF ALL TIME, REFLECTING SUPERIOR FOOTBALL COACHING?

How many more years of mediocre football do we have to watch? I'm starting to believe it's were we are located, no major recruiting grounds to call our own?

BG got their stars in FL and PA. Athens is closer to both places. Our problem is not the location, it's the people doing the recruiting. I suspect talented 18 year olds aren't drawn to our program because it's boring and stale. Tonight's game cannot help our recruiting efforts one bit.
