Today's game and last week at Kansas really make Texas state look like a head scratcher. Not only am I surprised that we lost to Texas State, I'm very surprised that Tennessee didn't exploit our secondary more. Our first week was a killer. But I was pleased with Windham and our receivers, and Basham is an absolute beast on defense. A couple fumbles go our way, it's a different game. I'm excited for MAC play. I hope we are on a collision course with WMU for the MACC.

Never happy with an L but really liked the effort. This was our toughest opponent this season and made it close. We came in four TD underdogs and could've won with a break or two. We still have issues with the passing game, but it's only the third week of the season with a QB who didn't have much experience coming in.

Next week should be a week to heal. G-W is only a so-so 1AA team, and our D should be able to control this one. It would be good to get Windham off the field early; he looked a bit banged up toward the end of today's game. Also, we're starting to get thin at RB. It would be a good idea to move Bo Hardy back to RB next week

Our DB's almost closed on two of Tennessee's td's. If we can't keep playing tighter covrage, we should be formidable in the MAC. I am most worried about Akron in the East. They just put up 379 passing yards against Marshall. We need to tighten up, if we give them space, they will take it. Offense, we need to hit some long balls and get more explosive plays. We have the ingredients, the question is will we put it together.

Huge, huge improvement from the team since the Texas State loss. If Ohio can get healthy (big IF), they stand a good chance in the MAC.

I respect the Zips but they don't scare me-Wisconsin had their way with them and Ohio's defensive front 7 are turning into a very good front 7. Yeah, OUr secondary is an Achilles heel.

4th and what, 6 with 13 ticks left, 57 yard field goal try and OHIO punts. I think that would have been a very good time to fake the punt for a 10 yard gain and let the next three be attempted.

You are a wideout on punt coverage and d is blocking you down the sideline. Just call a pass play to the guy and it may be a flag and first down or forget the attempt at a penalty and either run it or pass it for 10 yards.

Don't get the first, well turn it over on downs with about 8 seconds left and the only thing they can do is hope for is a Hail Mary or a long interference call--which is still only 15 yards and doubtful if their kicker has Zervos genes to make it from there with little time remaining.

15-14 at half with a fake thrown in would have been sweet.
You are so correct, I couldn't believe they punted. Worst case is Tenn gets the ball with 7 seconds on their own 40. We could have thrown deep and got an interference, long completion or a touchdownand even if its picked off deep its like a punt.

Guilty as charged.

So very proud of how the entire team/staff represented today. Today Ohio beat up a very good team. Ohio was physical and the tougher team today. The OL gets a tip of the hat, still no sacks allowed. GW has been a big part of that as he has often gotten rid of the ball just as he has been hit. Still, giving credit to Tenn, they did have a lot to do with Ohio's difficulties today. Glad to see #6 looking like his old self. #93, 32, 38, 33, 24, 92, 71, 57, 6, 89 & 48 showed up like All MAC candidates to me. Given the statistical basis for such recognition they may not see it, but, against a really tough opponent they really showed up. Apologies to #44, 50, 54, 23, 4, 12, 85, 7, 26, 40 16, 30, 79, 52, 60, 65, 74 etc. who I am sure earned their bruises too. I really like you all.

You bring up a good point Bcat. Me thinks the Tennessee players will be feeling it tomorrow morning. Ohio was as physical if not more so than the Volunteers. I think Ohio has Tennessee's respect.

We can't settle for whipping them physically, we have to get the W. They are definitely in hot tups saying those boys can play.

Against Tenn, #15 rated, "we have to get the W." Or what? Last season Tenn hung 59-30 on Bowling Green, seems they still had a good season.

The problem with Bcat2 is that he's so enamored of this coaching staff and our players that he accepts the performance that we put up no matter what it is. NO. MATTER. WHAT.

Yes, today was pretty good. But a loss. It happens. But it was a loss.

When you have this problem, when you accept the performance no matter what, then you are perfectly set up to not get a MAC title. Heck, to not achieve any particular goal. Because no matter what we do, it's perfect.

Bcat2 is the problem. He cannot recognize the terrific from the mediocre.

He'll keep this program right where it is forever.

Watch for Tennessee to lose next week, and everyone will say "see they weren't all that good". That often happens after a physical war. Fortunately Ohio plays GW next week.

Congratulations to the Bobcats for a hard-fought game. It's unfortunate that there was no win, for the effort. Make up for it by winning out.

After Texas State, I had my doubts-TSU isn't that good and Ohio should have killed them, so I had big doubts Ohio "could play", I really did.

I doubt no more.

And I disagree. Given the disparity between the P5 and the G5, especially the MAC East, given that Tennessee figures to be a major player in the SEC, Ohio shouldn't expect to compete with the likes of Tennessee. Let's be real-absolutely everything about Tennessee's program is better and better than Ohio's, from the facilities to the coaching staff. We debate the merits and funding of a dinky little Athletics Academic center, meanwhile the P5 schools like Tennessee spend that kind of coin just on one year's salary for their head coach. Ohio plays in a little stadium nearly 100 years old and Tennessee's stadium seats nearly 5 times more people. And we should "expect" to win this game? Please. Like I think Ohio should have beaten Texas State, by all rights Tennessee should have easily covered the spread today-the 2 programs are on totally different levels and Ohio's is nowhere near Tennessee's.

When you are building a BCS buster, you have to beat these teams. Solich has recruited big offensive and defensive line for the purpose of playing physical football. So schools such as Penn State and Tennessee who like to run should be prime candidates for a butt whooping. I understand after Texas State, I was down, but when I seen us win the line of scrimmage easily against Kansas, I knew we had a chance. We did not have to play perfect football to win. Power 5 doesn't equal Goliath to me. I am sure the players feel the same. It is not where your program is, it is how you play.

"He'll keep this program right where it is forever."

Could we say the team on the field today displayed "where this program is?" Well then that is pretty good, don't you think?

"Not the victory but the action; Not the goal but the game; In the deed the glory."

Remember last season Tenn spanked Bowling Green the 2015 MACC 59-30.

And SOME have never played the game ... look in the mirror! But .. you are a great Monday morning QB. And the most negative supposed fan I've ever seen.

So we were 'mediocre' again today? Find a new word ... get rid of mediocre and 'crashing' (losses).

Better yet. Learn to respect our players, they played hard and well today. They are NOT mediocre. And educate yourself .. Windham has great potential and has played very well to date. Saying he's limited is just yet another negative in your mind.

I have played not on this level, but at Cleveland Heights, we played Euclid when they had Robert Smith and Saint Ignatius when they were nationally ranked. We lost to Saint Ignatius 14-12 and we were pissed. We did not believe we were mediocre, even though we had never made the playoffs. You can't think like a loser and win. You play to win. When I tell people we loss 14-12 nobody cares. I love Ohio, this is not our best days, our best days are ahead, we will beat a ran.ked team. We will win the MAC and the medi's will go crazy
