That would be awesome and I hope it happens! Ohio has to get healthy, or at least get Dorian Brown and Maleek Irons back before that happens; Papi White's not built to take a pounding week after week.

It's funny what a difference a year makes. Last year Ohio was flush at RB, and took AJ from running back to fill in at depleted MLB. This year they need to consider taking Bo Hardy from Safety to fill in at depleted RB. I'm hoping that Dorian and Maleek are back for GW, and such a move is unnecessary.

BTW, you asked me when Maleek got hurt. I didn't see the play, but it was in the first half against Kansas. He came out at the half, dressed to play, but after about 5 minutes, he and a trainer headed back to the locker. I'm hopeful it is something he will recover from quickly, because he's certainly needed.

Huge, huge improvement from the team since the Texas State loss. If Ohio can get healthy (big IF), they stand a good chance in the MAC.

I respect the Zips but they don't scare me-Wisconsin had their way with them and Ohio's defensive front 7 are turning into a very good front 7. Yeah, OUr secondary is an Achilles heel.
I'd say that we are certainly the odds on favorite to be the sacrificial lamb in Detroit.

I have played not on this level, but at Cleveland Heights, we played Euclid when they had Robert Smith and Saint Ignatius when they were nationally ranked. We lost to Saint Ignatius 14-12 and we were pissed. We did not believe we were mediocre, even though we had never made the playoffs. You can't think like a loser and win. You play to win. When I tell people we loss 14-12 nobody cares. I love Ohio, this is not our best days, our best days are ahead, we will beat a ran.ked team. We will win the MAC and the medi's will go crazy

You participated in a truly memorable contest. You lost. Evidently you were coached that the response should be anger. I played one year for a coach whose response to mistakes, getting beaten on a play or a loss was anger. His team was horrible. Thankfully, he was replaced with a coach whose response to mistakes, getting beaten on a play or a loss was more coaching. Dramatic change, his team's won CCs and state ranking. This was before playoffs. I remember at the end of a win over a defending state champion, while we were running out the clock, their players began offering congratulations to us with two plays still to go. Their team had done enough winning to appreciate a good game, win or lose.

We were pissed because he had multiple opportunities to win. Almost doesn't count. We didn't see ourselves as lesser than St. Ignatius, even though the press did. The moral victories stopped after little league. Call me and millions of others angry or whatever you want. Solich and the team have a goal of winning every game, not just hanging. I remember during the Grobe years when we lost to North Carolina State and Kasas State the team had doubled both teams up in yards and they were pissed. Grobe even said they got snookered by the refs in North Carolina. They were pissed, not happy that they hung. I think like them and not like you. I won't force you to think like a winner and you don't cause me to think like a medi. Lets agree to disagree

I think I read somewhere (can't remember where exactly, but probably an Arkley tweet or blog post) that Irons' injury was a groin injury, and Brown's on Saturday was a hip.

I wonder if CJ Hilliard is wishing that he would have stayed. He could have had plenty of carries on the big stage in TN. Hopefully we can roll over GW without Brown or Irons and give them an extra week of rest.

Arkley's blog post recap of the Tennessee game is excellent: http://www.athensmessenger.com/blogs/bobcat_blog/final-no-tennessee-ohio/article_65314fab-096c-5411-9ff8-441afe321850.html

I agree, Ted. I was in Neyland and concur with his assessment.

Having seen this team in person twice (Texas State, Tennessee)and on television once (Kansas), I can say it's quickly becoming one of my favorite Bobcat squads of all-time. They play a brand of physical football on both sides of the ball and are continuing develop. Yes, injuries and depth issues in some units are a factor. But, it doesn't seem like anybody is making excuses or pointing fingers. Based on Tarell Basham's postgame comments, it seems like almost everyone is giving the effort required to succeed.

Really happy with the way OUr team held up against a great SEC opponent on the road. Our defensive line really impressed, hearing Aloese's name called several times was great.

How great has Windham been so far? Pretty exciting to see the potential there, I can't wait to see how he performs in MAC play. Love seeing a 0 in the turnover column for the Bobcats.

I know the comparison comes with a lot of caveats, but I heard this morning on ESPN Cleveland radio that JT Barrett should be getting some Heisman consideration. Let's take a look at his stats compared to Windham's so far:

Passing: 650 yards, 10 TDs, 1 INT; Rushing: 159 yards, 4.1 avg, 3 TDs

Passing: 790 yards, 6 TDs, I INT; Rushing: 222 yards, 6.7 avg, 1 TD

I took today off to catch up on some things and came across the replay of Saturday's game on SECNET. Listening to the pbp this afternoon I became very impressed with the announcing crew of Tom Hart and Andre Ware. Unlike the B10 Net, they weren't homies for their conference. They were very fair, unbiased, and overall very complimentary to Ohio. They did their homework from the Kansas and TxSt games, too. They even talked up the 110. Maybe it's because ESPN has a contract with the MAC, but it was still very refreshing to hear lots of good stuff about the G5 school.

that all throuthe game. Solid and balanced is a good descriptor. I even (almost) overlooked the Ohio U references by Hart. Seriously, they actually watched entire plays and made some nice observations of the "small things". I agree with the observation of B10 Net, the home of the homers.
