I have played not on this level, but at Cleveland Heights, we played Euclid when they had Robert Smith and Saint Ignatius when they were nationally ranked. We lost to Saint Ignatius 14-12 and we were pissed. We did not believe we were mediocre, even though we had never made the playoffs. You can't think like a loser and win. You play to win. When I tell people we loss 14-12 nobody cares. I love Ohio, this is not our best days, our best days are ahead, we will beat a ran.ked team. We will win the MAC and the medi's will go crazy

You participated in a truly memorable contest. You lost. Evidently you were coached that the response should be anger. I played one year for a coach whose response to mistakes, getting beaten on a play or a loss was anger. His team was horrible. Thankfully, he was replaced with a coach whose response to mistakes, getting beaten on a play or a loss was more coaching. Dramatic change, his team's won CCs and state ranking. This was before playoffs. I remember at the end of a win over a defending state champion, while we were running out the clock, their players began offering congratulations to us with two plays still to go. Their team had done enough winning to appreciate a good game, win or lose.
