They beat a good Army team 23-20, and they destroyed a decent Akron team 41-20 last week.
A couple weeks ago I would have agreed Akron was decent. But after the last month, I'm questioning that.

Hammered by WMU, UB & Toledo

Wins over Marshall, FCS, Miami, Kent & Ball.

Akron appears to be getting worse.

I get nervous every time we are a double digit favorite.

I'm more nervous than you are. I get nervous every time we're a favorite. We haven't been a double-digit favorite that often.

Getting the first lead is important this season. We never trailed in the six wins. When we've gotten behind, we've had troubles.

Relax. It's Buffalo.

There is no way that we should lose this game. None.

RS, forecasters are saying rain will clear out by evening. Not sure if that will happen by 600.

UB is bad this year and Ohio is a terrible matchup for them, but you should know better. This is the MAC and anything is possible.

Don't take this guy seriously, not many of us do. We haven't beaten anybody in the MAC by more than 10 so if the form holds it will be a close game. If we play great, we may win by more. If we play crappy, we can easily lose.

I would just like a game where we don't get called for a safety on the 4 yard line

I see in Arkley's notes that D. Brown is questionable with a hip injury. Ouch. Irons is probable however. Looks like half of the starters have some sort of injury which is probably normal for this late in the season.

Now that hurts. I really like Brown in the backfield. Just a great talent.

It's so sad and tragic that we have to worry about things like this.

You don't need to take me seriously. I take that as a compliment.

We may lose. I'm quite sure we'll win and it won't re in much doubt for at least the last 10 minutes.

But to contradict the thought that we should absolutely win is to allow that we are not very good. Yet to think this and support a revered coach in his 12th year in the weak MAC East--well, that's just illogical and inconsistent.

It's okay if you don't like me. But thinking that beating this Buffalo team should not be a sure thing is certainly a very interesting way of thinking. Interesting as in probably worthy of scientific study.

Why don't you put it up as a poll? SHOULD there be any way that we lose to this Buffalo team today?

It's like you're already laying this off as a not-so-bad loss on the very remote possibility that we lose.

Sorry; if we lose this one, it's sorry.

Hey Monroe, this is the MAC like the gentleman from Buffalo and many on here discuss from time to time. We should not have lost to Texas State either. There are few sure things in life. As I said if we play well, we'll likely win. If we play lousy, we very well may lose.

Interesting that Buffalo leads the MAC in pass defense, but is only 11th in interceptions. I assume that's due to their scheme. Rushing defense, they're dead last, so I guess the lack of interceptions is due to fewer pass attempts against them.

Sounds like with Brown out, we'll need a diet rich in Irons...

If you look at the stats, you may watch Starsky and Hutch reruns instead. Yes - Buffalo is good against the pass but not getting INTS. They are 4th in protecting the QB and we lead the MAC in getting to the QB. EMU kept us from doing that effectively.

They run well and we are the best in MAC against the run. They can't pass and we can't stop the pass.

In other words, who the hell knows :)

I have to say I'm very impressed with how seriously CBSSN treat the midweek MACtion games. I think the only time an ESPN-produced game at Peden featured a sideline reporter was Pitt in 2005. To my knowledge, all of CBSSN MAC games have had one.

No matter what our side (or sides!) of the discussion any of us take, I think that we all appreciate a good Starsky & Hutch re-run.

Not able to see it but I see that we're basically up 71-0 1 minute and 1 seconds into it...well, 17-0 early in the second...same thing.

Some of you, 66, ought to pay more faithful attention to what I post or what.

Prediction: Buffalo is so bad that we're up 27-7 at half but will be up 41-7 when the third period starts.
