I was actually predicting the number of times the teams would make their fans scream obcentities at the TV screen.

Good to see Akron continue to make penalties all night.

Game ball to Maleek Irons for recovering the fumble.

Tonight: Akron=OHIO exactly, minus a punter and a field goal kicker.

Zirvos MVP MVP MVP MVP MVP; Farkas runner-up!

We were one shoestring tackle on a kickoff, several missed passes, and one pass breakup in the end zone away from a loss. This wasn't so much a win as it was an avoided loss.

But, it's still a W, so I'll take it

This was a lot like the Tenn and CMU games, where we couldn't buy a takeaway. If Akron had been any better of a team, we'd be looking up at Fiami.

Kudos to the D, who really won half our MAC games this season.

And kudos to Fiami for making history by finishing the regular season at 6-6 after starting 0-6. They still suck, tho.

Our offense has ten days to get its act together for Detroit. Whoever wins the West -- WMU or Toledo -- will make us pay dearly for a sputtering offense.

And what if you were a recruit considering Akron?? Because that's who we're competing with for recruits. And if I play on the defensive side of the ball, I'm excited.

I pray Windham is 100%. Maxwell may be our future but he's not delivered since he took over. We've sputtered and been lucky. Against WMU or Toledo I'll take Greg.

Where's the IGNORE button? Why must we be subjected to drivel from some bozo who never set foot on the field? Sure, a weak win .. but it was a WIN!

Set football back decades? Oh, you mean Cleve? Lichty? You may want to forego drugs before posting. You're an embarrassment to Ohio University.

I mentioned this in the chat room. Who would want to play for this lethargic offense? That was some of the worst football (on both sides) that I've seen in a long time.

Why depress everyone? Competing with Akron with its 3rd string qb who was a receiver two weeks ago and we dump that performance what we did tonight. Why do you have such low hopes/expectations for us?

More boring and repetitive than tonight's game. Plus irrelevant and no one outside of your person cares.

Once again you shoot your mouth off with uniformed drivel. So HOW have we been set back decades? Are we back to Cleve? Lichtenburg? Knorr? Oh never mind, you run away from question you CHOOSE to not answer.

Just home from the game. Thoughts:
1. That was the worst game I have ever watched where I am still happy with the outcome.
2. I think both 4th down attempts were the right calls. In hindsight, kicking the FG was the better choice, but it's Senior Night and you're playing for the division title. I like playing with an attitude. I didn't even hate the playcalls, either.
3. I don't understand why we can't get a better push from the O line.
4. How tall is Brad Ellis really? The roster lists him at 5-10, but if he's 5-10, I'm 6-4 (I'm not). That's not criticism of him, he made a couple clutch plays late. But it was obvious that Kron was targeting him due to the height advantage their receivers had, we were not giving him a lot of help over the top, and he was playing waaaay off as a result. That last Kron drive I kept having visions of him getting beat on a jump ball or burned on a dig/post with a missed tackle and no safety help. It almost happened, but it didn't, and that's good.
5. Muck Fiami.
6. Any chance our secondary gets healthy in 10 days?
7. I think we're probably the 5th best team in the conference, but that doesn't matter. Win one more game in Detroit, and we're champs.
8. I'm rooting for WMU Friday. I think we caught Toledo sleeping when we played them the first time, and I don't think it will happen again. WMU, on the other hand, might start believing their own press too much. NY6 bid a fairytale ending for the greatest MAC team ever? Pssssh....Let's ruin the fairytale.
9. Go Bobcats.

We'll have one more game between now and then.

So, they had a high school QB, converted to WR, and converted back, and Ohio had no healthy running backs. We'd have been using a safety converted to RB if he didn't have a broken arm. Injuries aren't an excuse, right? Or, can the foes use them, but we can't, I forget? Either way, you've got to win, and Ohio did.

[/QUOTE]STOP STOP STOP! Brown, Irons and White all looked healthy enough vs Akron. They all played a ton of snaps. That was a dreadful offensive showing. Don't try to sugar coat it

Some of you clearly cannot reasonably appraise our performance, instead believing what you will (being mainly that we're quite a good squad in terms of talent and coaching).

How anyone could watch our last two games...key games for us with so much at stake...and think we're any good is beyond me.

This staff has been here 12 years. Maybe we'll surprise and get the MAC title this year. If so, I'll have a ton of words to eat.

If not, again as usual, there is no reason to have any faith other that we'll continue to mediocre muddle through with failure against the one big goal of the program.

And if you don't think that a MAC title is about the only goal, thanks for re-affirming my thesis that you can't reasonably appraise.

Just home in cincy and I have to agree with CMoney. My son went with me for his first OHIO football game in years and we both agreed it was probably the two worst offensive teams we have ever seen. Thanks God for our defense and the crappy Akron offense for that win. We continue to play like this and we end up 8-6.

I must say congrats to the team though. I am amazed they won the division but that doesn't change my opinion that we have plateaued as a program.

Brown had 14 carries and Irons had 11. Papi had 6 touches. They don't seem very injured to me. From what I could tell, the offensive line wasn't getting any push whatsoever.
