Craziness in Stillwater. Trustees held a special meeting and are reportedly asking Gundy to take a large pay cut, which would go to pay players instead. If he refuses, he's fired.

Getting back to Albin, my personal belief is that he's not going anywhere, at least, not unless he gets an offer that at least doubles his salary. Remember that he came in with Frank, and that he was with Frank at his prior job. He saw how Frank was treated by the administration, by the media, and by the fans. He knows how he is treated at Ohio, by the administration, by the media, and by the fans, and there is no comparison. Even with his horrible first year, he was never treated badly, and I think he appreciates that. Money is nice, but having a job you enjoy is also important.

At the moment there's not really a job out there that's miles ahead of Ohio that he's a good fit for. Tulsa is about the only one because they're in the AAC and he has Oklahoma ties. Outside of that? Unless Purdue reaches back into the MAC bag again, but I can't see them doing that after the experience with Hazell. UCF, North Carolina, West Virginia? I doubt he's even a candidate.

That’s my belief as well. I don’t know the man personally, though I did sit near him in church once! ;-) There is just something about his personality and the way he’s bought into our culture, like wearing the Block O hat to honor Bill Hess, that makes me think he’s more in the mold of a Coach Hess, who once turned down a highly public officer by Pittsburgh for much more money, than he is like a Jim Grobe or a Danny Née, if I’m aloud to mix sports. I just don’t think greener pastures — as in filthy lucre — are a high priority with him. I could be entirely wrong. Would not be the first time. But, that’s just my sense of the man at this moment in time. One thing for sure, he’s certainly not a Brian Kelly, who never appears satisfied with any job, and keeps chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but never quite finding it, yet collecting lost of millions every time he pass GO.

Any AAC job could double what he's making at Ohio. I do find it surprising Martin hasn't moved on from Miami but his record overall there is only 64-66. If he wins the MAC again for the 2nd straight year he might.

Just off a quick search without check all teams, while that’s true of Memphis and Tulane, Charlotte and Rice paid their head coaches $1 million or LESS the past few years. UMass is reportedly paying their new HC $1.3-1.4 million coming into the MAC next year.

Not a firing, but Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy had his contract restructured. His salary will be reduced and that money will be used toward the players.

Wonder how many more coaches will agree to something like this. I'm sure he would have been fired if he didn't do it, but still interesting nonetheless.

I read that they were waiting for his decision or he will be fired.

His buyout is $25M though.

I wonder what that means for friend of the program, defensive coordinator Brian Nardo. He's probably fired bc the defense was bad, even by Big 12 standards.

Yes. It's a done deal. McAfee’s guy.

See, Charlotte, this is how it’s done. Take a team that's celebrating its championship, let them celebrate, and announce it a few days later.

If Rich Rod is going back to WVU, would they maybe want him to stay through the bowl game to get a look at OU and Smith since WVU comes to Peden next year? Unique situation if they do want him back.

Probably not. But I bet plenty of staff will.

Thamel says it’s RichRod.

Is there some kind of time warp going on where Charlotte is the center of the universe for 2025 and everything is being sucked into there? Have you seen UNC's schedule for 2025?

BILL BELICHICK is coaching the North Carolina Tar Heels AT Charlotte next year.

It's disappointing that NC is not playing BC next year. That would be Page 1 stuff up here.

I've heard TV is already trying to help get UNC out of that for a better TV matchup.

If not a buyout…At least to BofA.

This will be like Coach Prime…EVERYTHING made for TV.
