If a coach gets fired or a school refuses to extend their contract is the school telling them to go pick up the dog from the hospital?

i.e. “If tOSU loses their home playoff game, they’re going to tell Ryan Day to go pick up the dog from the hospital.” Or “Terd tells Charles Huff to pick the dog up from the hospital in spite of SBC Tile Win”

UNLV has hired former Mississippi State and Florida HC Dan Mullen.

New Mexico has hired Idaho HC Jason Eck.

By my count as of 12/16, the remaining jobs open are Ohio, Jacksonville State and Sam Houston State.

Definitely would have fit in there in terms of doing more with less. Makes ya wonder who's dog is going to the hospital for this job.....

Washington State head coach Jake Dickert appears headed to Wake Forest.

Dickert was pretty much the last remaining piece Wazzuu had going for it on this new PAC 12 adventure. After losing QB John Mateer to the transfer portal and now Dickert, that program has an even longer uphill climb now.

I have a feeling Wake would avoid another MAC coach. They ended up firing the previous two.

Dickert’s dog getting sick now may be good timing for us. Wonder if Smith would've been a candidate now that AD Chun moved on to Washington. Probably a longshot, but who knows?

For context that's half the coaches in AAC (7/14) will be new next season. And the carousel still spins.

Jacksonville State has hired Auburn DC Charles Kelly.

The Cougars of Washington State are the final opening this year (so far).
