The answer is forthcoming from the same "common knowledge" regarding the hanging scoreboard in the Convo next year and it is obvious. The QB recruit is someone who hasn't played the position for a while but has proved to have the arm, has the graduate eligibility, and height to see over the o-line.
Simple: it's Tony Campbell......who else could it be?

Bump . . . inquiring minds want to know. Facts would be best, but lacking them, good, juicy, unsubstantiated rumors will do.

I was just wondering the same thing. This is either the best kept secret in Ohio football history or it's going to be the biggest disappoint this side of no MACC for Monroe.

I can't believe that Arkley or BobcatBlitz or someone doesn't have any idea. I mean it can't be I can tell ya but I gotta kill ya scenario? It's the biggest mystery on campus since who won the fight between Harry Houska and Frank Peters.

A coach tweets something. Someone interprets it a certain way. Dozens expect something special. And now, people are disappointed about something that may have never existed.

Or some kid changed his mind.

Changed his mind or is having trouble locking down Qualifier status (i.e. GPA/SAT/ACT)?

Good for him, and I'm very happy to hear that. He's in line to soon potentially start for a team that will challenge for a national championship each year, and he's one injury away from that happening right now. Seeing him leave all that behind and come to a school like Ohio with his tail between his legs would be a helluva sad day. For what, a MACC? BFD. I love Ohio, but he's better than that, which is why I wish him the best where he is now. He has an opportunity that 90+% of every other college football player would envy and wish they had. But they don't. And he does. I can't stand OSU but I wish him all the luck there.

It's my understanding that the mystery tweet on 12/26 will not be announced until Signing Day.

This implies it's an incoming freshman, and not a one-and-done graduate transfer, I would assume. Would that be correct?

Yes. High school recruit. Didn't want to announce until Signing Day I guess.

I could care less if Burrow stays at Ohio State or transfers. That is his call. What I do not care for is someone coming on here and trying to argue that if Burrow came to Ohio he would destine himself to obscurity and never make the draft. What a line of crap. If Burrow has the talent some of you think he does, he will blossom wherever he goes. From 1998 - 2014 the MAC had 12 players taken in the first round of the NFL Draft, including among others Randy Moss, Byron Leftwich, Ben Roethlisberger, Eric Fisher (No. 1 pick in 2013) and Khalil Mack (5th pick in 2014). My point is if you have talent you will be picked. The Pittsburgh Steelers will start 5 former MAC players Sunday night, those 5 being Ben Roethlisberger - Miami, Harrison and Nix - Kent State, A. Brown - CMU and Mike Mitchel - Ohio. In addition thereto Julian Edelman from Kent State will be starting for the Patriots. Bottom line, if you have talent, playing in the MAC does not hurt your chances in the Pros. Either Burrow has talent or he does not and he has to prove himself on the field, not in your minds. Good Lord, you rag on students who wear OSU gear and then basically turn around and do the equivalent on this Board by arguing that Burrow is too good for Ohio.

I am going to guess RB, since we already have 2 QBs in the class and this isn't a rental. We can presume the services list him as uncommitted, since there is a desire to keep quiet until NSD. We know the initial tweets from the coaches came while they were in Alabama for the bowl or immediately after returning. And we know that the day after Ellison de-committed, the coaches were in Florida visiting with recruits.

Based on that info, I'm gonna guess this guy:
http://247sports.com/player/sheldon-evans-80441

My logic:
Pretty highly regarded RB recruit, not currently committed, who has been quiet on twitter since mid-December, from Georgia, which is right between Alabama and Florida.

I concur, he is not better than anything. I don't care how many autographs you got. Fickle fan, you should be a fan on OSU's sight and get in line to wash their cars.
