Best. Thread. Ever.

We've got talk of transfers...

We've got bickering over why in 12 YEARS WE HAVEN'T WON A MACC

We've got people justifying why 8-6 is better than 8-5 because the 6 are "close losses to good teams"

We've got Russians

We've got Clinton

The only thing missing is something about Steveland Hookfin. (Yes, I will call him Steveland)

Consider that done.

http://www.jacksonsun.com/story/sports/high-school/footba... /

He's actually a really successful high school head coach in Tennessee.

Hookfin to WMU?????
Nice, he was an offensive coordinator for a college a few years back.

Speaking of Tennessee, why not toss Jalen Hurd into the mystery transfer mix. He'd fit the "stud playmaker" description. ;)

I would take jalen hurd. The kid want's to play wideout because he is 6'4", he could put on 20 pounds and be a manchild at tight end. His mother lover boy and gets involved. I am sure we can try to deal with that.

In stalking Frank's Twitter for WMU recruits, I saw he recently followed Shane Morris.

Hurd makes more sense to me than any other name that has been thrown out there, other than the conventional wisdom is that it's a QB. But a big, athletic, All-SEC caliber guy who can line up in the backfield or split out wide? Yes, that would be worth some enthusiastic tweets.

Of course he did. He wanted to beat Terry Bowden to the punch. Oh wait a minute, Bowden already got his transfer QB for this year so never mind.

Not likely the one we are looking for, but a possible one.

actually, I would pass on trout, unless he comes during the winter. He will not play if he does not come in the winter. Stroebel and Heitzman came in the winter and contributed. He would come in the summer and end up riding the pine and eating up a schollie. We should be selective on 5th year transfers as Excat 21 stated. He has no on the field playing experience, I'd rather get a high school senior.

So much we don't know about the roster players. Anderson next up for Cooper, with McCray next up for Watson. Pleasants behind Lowery, Notestine behind Pruehs. Who else has seen the field? If the coaches who have seen Ohio's other roster players decide to offer him it would be from a much more informed position than any one at BA. He was a huge get out of HS and has had four years of the highest level player development, if the coaches meet with him and he has a real fire to play, like Heitzman and Strobel, they will see it. I do expect that if the coaches offer him it will be after having been "selective."

I'm not in favor of a grad transfer QB whatsoever. It would be putting a band aid on the problem for one season. That's is not the answer, it's a one-year shortcut to a dead end.

I think it's a numbers game. We had 2 QB's go down this year and had to rely on a redshirt freshman. If he goes down next year it's a juco....and if he goes down we are SOL. I will take a one year rental if nothing else but for insurance.

The fact that Shane Morris is tied with Monroe tells me no body on here has a clue as to who it is.

Can't believe all the hype is for Rourke. If so, we've been had.

Don't know who it is, but don't think it's Rourke. Perhaps, the mystery man won't enroll until summer school. Maybe it's a grad transfer who doesn't graduate until the end of this term. Or, maybe it's an undergrad transfer who is eligible for some kind of waiver from the NCAA and they are waiting for NCAA approval of the waiver. Or, maybe it's something we haven't thought of yet. I understand that Martian transfers are immediately eligible. If not, BTC, will cite the appropriate NCAA rule.

If there is no residency requirement for the last 30 hours or an athlete graduates before the the spring term, they can transfer. Hopefully, we have something good in the works for the summer.

Since the "mystery recruit" started with the coach who works Cincy, I was wondering if Gunner Kiel had any eligibility left. :)

Maybe someone else from Cincy who's displeased because the new coach is too Fickell.

Why so another former Big 12 coach can show us how NOT to use him?

If it gives OUr team the chance to win a MACC because we get one year of a grad transfer QB, I'm all for it. Maybe he can help teach the younger guys a few things along the way. Maybe having a season with a successful QB will lead the way for recruiting the position a little better.

The tweet that set this off was "Christmas came early - Bobcat football just got way better (or something like that).

Maybe it's just new Hot Chocolate machines.....That make it Hot.....And tastes like Chocolate.....And they actually have it.....When you want some.

That would be pretty awesome (AKA as better.....)
