My enthusiasm or excitement is a lot less than it was two weeks ago before the Akron loss but I still want to see Ohio win out and finish with a 10-3 record, which I believe would be Solich’s best single season record at Ohio.

Maybe a win against Buffalo gets Ohio a better bowl? I don’t know. But I am really in the minority and love the “bowl season” and all the bowls, as minor as they may be. If Ohio’s in the Spud Bowl, the Bahamas Bowl or even the Camilia Bowl, yeah I’m wearing Ohio gear head-to-toe, having a delicious X Mas Ale (or 2) and cheering on the Bobcats. There are worse things to do.

Heck, I even have a dream of seeing Ohio play play in the Rose Bowl someday. Now that’s crazy!

According to http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa/pac-10/ucla-bruins.php , UCLA has an opening yet in their non-con schedule in 2020. If we landed that as a payday game (or a far less likely 1-and-1), then we'd quite literally be playing "in the Rose Bowl"

I also love bowl season. I don't know what football fans are complaining about. If it's too much football for you, change the channel and watch Polar Express.

I hate that I feel like this but I have no interest in watching this game and depending on who we play I may not feel like watching the Bowl game. I am still dejected by the inability to get to the MACC. I have watched this program year in and year out and defended our mediocrity to my other MAC friends too many times. I hope we finish 10-3 but I actually predict a loss to Buffalo.
I'm in that camp, too. I planned to attend the Buffalo game and make the drive to Detroit next weekend. Now, I'm playing golf and heading to the casino for a poker binge. I might listen to the game if I'm in the car, but I've moved on.

I'm thoroughly uninterested in watching this game .... and I'm going to be there in person!

Based on past history, I fully expect an Ohio team that will go thru the motions against a Buffalo team fighting for bowl eligibility.

Ohio is now -6 after opening -3. Depending on how many airport drinks I have on my layover, I'm tempted to take the Bulls +6.

This is a great test for OUr coaching staff ... got to find a way to motivate this team.

They were unable to get them ready for Akron ... this is a different animal.

We've seen the November swoon from this program in the past .... Will it continue?

If you have time, be sure to hit up Duffs (corner of Sheridan & Millersport) for some excellent wings. If you’re looking for a bit nicer fare, Pearl Street Brewery downtown has an excellent menu and fantastic beers (Saber’s Edge, a Black IPA, is my personal favorite).

Note: I’ve been out of buffalo for 3+ years now, so those recommendations might be a tad dated, but both of those are institutions and i haven’t heard that either has closed.

This is why NOT finishing off Akron has such a bite. I sit here on a nice day off and the thought of playing Buffalo, for pretty much nothing, takes the excitement down a notch (or two). Beefs, on the other hand, playing for a Bowl Game. Who wants it more today?

It's different for the players. They will respond to the approach put together by the coaching staff.

If we show up, I guess it will improve our Bowl situation.

Toledo and NIU Games will be interesting to watch. Either team will wipe the Ford Field carpet with cr-Akron.

50 degrees and sun today in Buffalo. Enjoy the game if you are heading that way. ESPN3 for me.

10 wins is still on the table. Crushing the Buffs would feel good. I'll still be watching hoping for an entertaining game and a big-time Cats win.

10 wins off the table. Getting crushed by the Buffs will feel bad. Done watching a low-point Cats loss.

If the first 4 minutes of this game are any indication of our preparedness for this game, I think it's time to watch something else.

so, how about we just not show up in any way shape or form. Why is playing in this empty concrete mausoleum so difficult?

If we don't recruit some wide receivers, we could have a losing record next year. We can't defend the pass, so we need to score a lot and Albin is not geared up for that.

After that 1st quarter, I'd say the team shares my thoughts. Solich really has the team playing their best every November, doesn't he?

At least we show our true form every November......

And this year we really can't use injuries as an excuse. I know some of you will try but this is definitely the healthiest our impact players have been in years.

So with that, can someone dig up my old "The Ask Frank Nicely to Leave Thread?" I want that brought to the front and ask that Solich be axed.

Not so sure about that. Where's AJ? I assume he's injured. I know Cope is a big hit, especially after losing Cherry for the season. Clearly we are hurting at WR. I don't know what's going on with Aloese playing with a cast like that. Can't imagine he's real effective at grabbing a runner in his zone.

Don't know if injuries have impacted the OL, but something's going on.

Then someone better fess up, because it isn't like past years where our linebackers and offensive lines were a M*A*S*H unit.

We have the depth this year to withstand those injuries. Really want to tell me that we didn't otherwise?

Pretty easy to see where this is going...
Buffalo plays with the wind behind them in the first quarter and gets 24 points. Ohio plays with the wind behind them in the second quarter and nets 3 points. Game...set...match!
