Regardless of what Kent does in their game with Akron Tuesday I will be cheering on the Bobcats. Any so called Ohio supporters who want to jump off the wagon go ahead. Nine regular season wins is still a goal that this team should strive for. As I mentioned in an earlier thread, the Bulls are on a roll and have a QB who has thrown for over 300 yards in each of the last three games and plenty of TDs. They have an excellent WR with over 1200 yards and a dozen TDs. This will not be easy and the Bobcats will have to be mentally tough to grab a win. This last loss will be difficult to forget. It looks like Ohio will not be playing for a MACC in December. However, football is unlike basketball, volleyball, softball or baseball in that only two teams get to play for a league title. In the other sports the league invites all or at least two thirds of the conference teams to participate in the season ending MAC tournament. Hopefully our Cats will come ready to play next Friday and earn a ninth win. Go Cats!

I'll be pulling intensely for Ohio. It's been five years since we had nine wins, and our record is only 29-23 in that time. Beat Buffalo and win the bowl game and we're 10-3. But the goal is to win the MACCG. To do that, Kent has to win Tuesday. Unfortunately, the odds are very long. To paraphrase Ferrari in "Casablanca": It would take a miracle to get to the MACCG and I'm afraid the Germans have outlawed miracles.

After a terrible drive and game at Buffalo two years ago I swore that I would cross this destination off my bucket list. Rain, sleet and snow most of the game....and we lose to make things worse! I may make the return trip to see how our kids bounce back from a terrible experience at Akron!
Go Bobcats, get that 9th win.

Based on what I have read the team is a little demoralized after the loss to Akron. They all, as a team, lost that game and have no one to blame but themselves. They can't change the past but they can regroup and beat Buffalo as well as any other games after this Friday.
Look how Toledo handled their loss to us. They regrouped and won their next game.
We have at least 2 more games and could end the season at 10-3. When was the last time we won 10 games?
I for one believe we can recover, even if we haven't always showed that resolve in the past. I would like to see the coaching staff inject some new approach to motivate and improve the current mentality of the team into the one that is full of confidence and emotion.

My son is a senior and will be home (Cleveland) for Thanksgiving. We're thinking about driving up Friday morning. The Mrs. will be shopping, so we have no excuse. The Browns are 0-10, so a wounded OU team is STILL a better option.

Are we positively not on CBS Sports Network??
Stuck at the in-laws on Black Friday and was looking forward to using this as an excuse to escape for a few hours. Looks like I'll have to plug my lap top in and "escape" via my headphones. :(

The really big event this week is not in Akron, OH or Buffalo, NY but rather a little farther east in NYC and takes place on Thanksgiving.

The 110 on National TV and killing it at the Macy's Day Parade. Go OHIO!

Full-page ad in Sunday's Dispatch for the parade. Included something like "Congratulations to the Ohio University Marching 110" below the fold.

My wife and I went to the Varsity Show on Nov. 11.

For anyone who doesn't follow the 110,or read The Post, they'll be doing 25 or 6 to 4 for the broadcast.

They'll have their rehearsal in front of Macy's sometime around 2:30 Am.

We talked to some members after the show.
They did seem "pumped".

I believe they left yesterday,so they'll have sometime to enjoy New York.

We're trying to figure out the best way to get into the City for the parade, then back home for dinner.

This thread is a perfect microcosm of Ohio Football. Last game of the year upcoming and all the talk in the official game thread is about the marching band. I love the 110, but it's so disappointing to watch the season end this way.

This will be my fourth trip to Buffalo and they have been really ugly games.
I hope our guys are focused and play a solid game. It would be good to wipe out the Akron loss with a mistake free and injury free game. This team deserves our support and then onto a bowl game.

"all the talk"? Come on, 3 of 15 posts are about the well deserving 110.

This is a suggestion. Can the moderators of this website give the Marching 110 a section of their own. This website has Olympic Sports, Volleyball, Ozone, Baseball, etc. With a page of their own posters may stay on topic as the other threads would be for that specific topic. Just a thought?

There are only few posts about the 110,mostly during football season.

I don't think they need their own page, but a "pinned' thread might be nice.

I did watch them this morning.
Lots of love from the Today Show hosts, especially Matt Lauer and a nice close up of the cow bell.

Can't wait for tomorrow's parade.

I tend to think that how the team plays in this game is a good measure of how this experienced staff is able to motivate a group of demoralized young players. If they come out listless and unmotivated, it's on the staff, IMHO.
Get it done!

I agree......the morale is definitely down. I don't think beating down 1 group of guys is the answer, every group played a part in that lost (Coaches included) We're too grown to point fingers....REGROUP, and go after that 10-3 record. We went to the Championship last year, didn't win, and didn't end up with a 10-3 record. I see so much potential in this team. The only down side is the Seniors who wont get the opportunity to get that MAC Championship that we're chasing. I'm sorry, I will not give up on these guys. Let's go Ohio, I'll see you all on Friday.......

I hate that I feel like this but I have no interest in watching this game and depending on who we play I may not feel like watching the Bowl game. I am still dejected by the inability to get to the MACC. I have watched this program year in and year out and defended our mediocrity to my other MAC friends too many times. I hope we finish 10-3 but I actually predict a loss to Buffalo.

I'm in that camp, too. I planned to attend the Buffalo game and make the drive to Detroit next weekend. Now, I'm playing golf and heading to the casino for a poker binge. I might listen to the game if I'm in the car, but I've moved on.
