Thanks for the pictures everyone. Exterior looks pretty good so far.

So is there any actual gameday use of Sook for fans, like added VIP seating in there or refreshment area options?

I'm just disappointed that OCF didn't include a photo from his most recent travels with his latest photos of the academic center. Maybe next time?

Well, no need to wait until next time, BS, here's one of my wife and granddaughter doing some kind of bogey on the streets of Bethany Beach, Del., a little more than a week ago. I'm really pleased you like my travel photos so much.  If you'd friend me on FB you could see a whole lot more! wink coolsad

I know that some of the mailings I got said it was going to have hospitality and meeting rooms for game days.

Speaking of construction makes me think about bricks.

Thinking about bricks makes me think of Athens Block.

Who all on here has one or more of these in his or her home/office/man cave/she shed?

How did you come about your block(s)? Did you actually pay for it?

Found mine in Logan's Bookstore window.......had to clean off a little broken glass around it, though.

Oh . . . really . . . I believe you are taking a little poetic license here. This does not sound like your MO, rice paddy grunt. Now, there are some others on here who might tell a story like this with greater credibility.

I guess I should share my story since I asked everyone else.

Lived in Lincoln Hall my freshman year so I went up and down Jeff Hill quite often. There was a big pothole at the top when it was still open to car traffic. This made it really easy to pluck a brick or four as they were loosely laid at the time. Grabbed one for myself and some friends in year one.

Fast forward to junior year and I am in a rental with some friends. There is a deck on the back of the house and underneath it there’s probably a skid of the bricks.

For the record, Jeff is back open to vehicle traffic.

Thanks for the share OCF. I stopped by Peden yesterday on the way through Athens as we drove back from North Carolina. I was about to share my image, but it's essentially the same as yours. I have to say, up close it looks really cool with the addition of the Sook Center.

Does anyone know where the bobcat statue is going to be/is located now?

I assume the construction would be in place of where that space once was?

It looks like the brick façade is now virtually all complete on the South Green Drive side.  Here are a few shots that I took this afternoon.

The "pano" shot below distorts the curvature of the building a litte, but it does offer an interesting perspective.

Below: view from the parking lot across from the IPC.

Not sure if anyone else has been reading Pete Nakos' practice updates for The Post. But he is including Sook Center updates in there was well. Today's had an interesting new development to me at least.

Sook Center update: Cement was being spread again and dirt was moved to finish landscaping. Was told that the inside is complete and just needs to be furnished. The bottom floor will be the main entrance of the stadium with a new box office and gift shop.

So it will actually be done for 9/1? That's great to hear if so.

Very excited to read that things should be ready to go for the home opener!

Does anyone know if there will be any signage affixed to the building or will the final project resemble its current look?

Interesting about the gift shop. Anyone know if that is going to be run by the university or contracted out to a third party like Follets? I know that the online store through the athletic site is run by Fanatics but I don't believe they do any brick and mortar operations.

Would love to get some of the Adidas gear that the coaches/players have been wearing.

I always thought the gift shop options at the game could have used upgrades, so I'm happy to see at least a plan for a gift shop at the game.

The Souvenir Stand at Peden was Follets.

It was pretty much an open booth.

I don't know about the new one.

I would think that,if O.U. wanted, especially if this is going to be a true Gift Shop, they could open a Bobcat Depot Annex.

Let me go on record as doubting that the AC will be ready to go and completed by the Howard game. I drive by it about every day, and it really looks like there’s a lot of work left to be done. I hope I’m proved wrong.

Thanks Ted, can see how its really coming along. The 2nd video finally gives an idea of how the 1st floor is setup, in that it basically doesn't have much of a 1st floor but has two open air entrances into the stadium.

Agreed the videos showed a lot. I previously just assmed that this was a two story indoor academic building and didn’t realize the lower level was also a new ticket office and stadium entrances.

I don't remember a stadium entrance or the other first floor amenities being mentioned in any of the fundraising materials I got.

I looked at the original renderings and the new entrance is there.

Don't pay any attention to this dude. After viewing the indoor video it's quite clear he doesn't know what he is talking about.
