LeVert said the only restriction on his release was that he couldn't go to any MAC schools.

Maybe he should talk to Will Thomas about thinking bigger. How did that work out for him.

Ha, first thing I thought was the academics thing might just be cover if he's considering UofM. The second was Will Thomas :)

I take it from all of this that we are now totally out of the picture with this guy.  That's sad.

Anyone know why Illinois isn't in the mix, or are they?

FlyerHoops.net is reporting that Archie Miller of Dayton called Caris last night and offered him a scholarship.

Northland's Jalen Robinson, longtime friend of LeVert, said he thinks Caris will join him at Dayton. LeVert also considering Illinois, Michigan, Purdue and Iowa, with a possibility of still heading down Rt. 33 to Athens.

Possibility?

Slim.....none....and more than none.

Did he talk to Christian? Highly doubtful so I say good luck......but don't let the door hit ya in your arse.

Christian responded at Bobcat Caravan last night that he visited with him and his family soon after getting hired and said he still wanted him in Athens.

I was pleased w/how JC said he addressed the situation. He said he met w/him very quickly after getting hired. He said that he told Caris & family that if he was 99.9% sure before that he wanted to come to OHIO - that there should be no reason now that the expectations for him OR OHIO's future success would be any different. He also said that his chances at playing time early in career would be the same as well - we have a solid team coming back, just as was the case before the NCAA tourney run, and he would have to Earn his playing time, just like everyone else, just like it would have been when he made his commitment in the first place. He also said he was not going to sweat this too much, we have a solid foundation, and will have plenty of opportunities to find other quality recruits who will have solid commitments. Fine with me.

RSBobcat, sounds what JC said was just what he should have said to LaVert.  I can't fault him one bit for taking that approach.

Anyone know if he is redshirting or injured or something. Haven't seen him in the box score for either of Michigone's first two games.

For one, his name is Caris LeVert. I went to High school with him. He's a great kid and he was in many of my classes. He's a laid back kid that doesn't talk to much. Well anywyas, I've watched some of the Michigan games on t.v. and I saw him sitting on the bench. I'm pretty certain that he will be red shirted. He's a great kid and I wished that he would've came to OU. His girlfriend did.

As for Taco Charelton. He's a big guy at 6'6 and 240. He will probally never play a down in Michigan.

is this your scientific analysis that Taco at 6'6 240 will never play in 5 yrs. You lose all athletic credibility when you make ignorant statements like that.

Redshirt burnt. He's on the floor tonight against Western Michigan.

Follow-up: Western Michigan is very white this year.

Taco is not playing basketball for Pick Central this year, after helping them win the state title last year. He plans on graduating early and enrolling at Michigan early to take part in spring football. Not sure why if he's not going to play for Michigan.
