Tweet from Jon Rothstein of CBS sports.

Michigan freshman Caris LeVert is slowly becoming an offensive contributor off the bench. 6-5 wing is averaging 7.7 PPG in last three games.

Started over the weekend w/ Hardaway hurt. Off top of head, I believe he ended up with 9 pts. and 5 assists (or was it 5 rebounds?). Hit both of his 3-pt. attempts in big 10 opener of the bench for 6 points.

Caris, only a sophomore at Michigan, has started every game and is playing 33 minutes a game.  He is 2nd on the team in scoring at 15.1 per game, including 24 at Duke last night.  It seems like when we narrowly lose out on a high recruit, that recruit ends up being not so good.  Definitely not the case with Levert, I thought he looked awesome last night.

From what I understood, we narrowly missed out on Trey Burke as well. Ohio would be a different program if Michigan hadn't snagged Caris and Trey.

Why with Burke? If I recall, the only on court comparison had Cooper>Burke

Why? Have the both on the floor at the same time. That's why.

I don't think we were ever that close with Burke.  Not quite the same as the signed and sealed LeVert.

He definitely was not as close as Caris was to playing in the Green and White, but I have *heard* he was a Bobcat if he wasn't a Wolverine.. I could certainly be wrong about that. Part of the reason I've believe it is because Stevie and Burke were/are pretty good friends. There is a pretty awesome video of them tearing up AAU together.

And yes, in my mind it wasn't Burke over DJ. It was Burke AND DJ.

Yah, it could have been Burke over Jay Kinney. I think we all would have been okay with that.
