Sounds like he will sign this week or next week.

I like this kid...

“They got a good team they went to the Sweet 16 last year and I feel like they will probably go to the Final Four this year,” Mompremier said.|

Link worked fine for me. It was just a short game recap with one line saying that the opponent took advantage of Wadley not playing in the post. No mention of why.

Btw, looks like he has a relative, (sister/cousin?) that is 6' 4" and quite the prospect...

Here is a recent article confirming his sister is very good and there is another tall brother.

Quote:expand_more

At the time, she had little experience in organized basketball, learning most of what she knew from brother Wadley Mompremier, a 6-9 senior for the Stings’ boys’ team who has signed to play for Ohio University. They also have a brother Claude, a 6-9 junior who plays for North Miami.

Beatrice Mompremier showed a glimpse of what she could do as a freshman, when she averaged eight points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. She has improved those numbers this season to 14.2 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.1 blocks, all team highs.

Dr. MLK "Stop the Violence" Basketball Classic Recap

by Alex Schwartz

MIAMI — The 18th annual Dr. MLK “Stop the Violence” Basketball Classic took place at Miami Central (FL) High School over the past couple days. NBE Sports was in the gym for five of the games on Saturday to see some of the top teams and players from South Florida.

TOP PERFORMER

Wadley Mompremier of Miami Senior was the leading scorer in the five games NBE Sports saw, but that is not the only reason he garnered Top Performer honors. A 6-foot-9 power forward who has signed with Ohio University, Mompremier has made some impressive strides in his game since the summer. The class of 2013 prospect is still a bit raw, but the strides in his game are quite evident. He scored off some nice alley-oop plays and consistently used his height to his advantage. Mompremier has superb length to go along with a body that can still add some muscle. The future Bobcat rebounds the ball pretty well and can even grab some boards at the offensive end. Mompremier also displayed the ability to step out and knock down a shot from 3-point range with a pretty nice looking stroke. It was clear on Saturday that Mompremier has a chance to be a superb player down the road in the MAC and Ohio fans should be excited about this pickup.

Here's some footage of him in the playoffs this year. Looks like he makes really quick moves to the basket for a big guy. Really like his ability to attack the basket...he seems like a cross between Devaughn Washington,  Ivo (freshman year) and Jon Smith. Sweet handles for a big.

He's #35 in the vid.

Footage of the MLK showcase....I'm pumped for this kid.

Thanks for the videos. They provide some better insight into the type of player Wadley is. He has definitely been the biggest mystery of the four recruits. Reports have said that he is still getting used to his body, so I was bracing for him to be a project big man. He looks like he may be 6'10'' with good lower body strength - he can get plenty above the rim.

His upper body needs work. From the footage I've seen of Campbell, it looks like both of them could stand a redshirt year, but I am excited for the prospects of them playing alongside each other when they are upperclassmen.

What you don't see in those videos is his ability to shoot the 3.  He really can shoot it.

This guy absolutely needs a red-shirt year to bulk up and refine his game (really looks like Manute Bol but with a better looking shot).  He will get pushed all over the place at the next level.  What we also didn't see in those videos is any kind of post-move that could work at the college level.  Of the few I saw in those links (open dunks don't count as a post move) they were really bad/soft.   I'm not at all down on him as he obviously has potential with his size and shooting touch, but I just don't see him helping us in 2013-2014.  Now as a 5th year senior in 2017-2018 he could be a force if he works hard on his body.

What level of play is this in Florida?  Competition doesn't look very strong.

Last video..... he was in a fight where it appeared he took exception to being fouled and pushed the defender.  He then took a haymaker to the dome.  Not something you love to see in a recruit's highlights

I agree that he might need a year to develop and build on that frame, but can you imagine how athletic our front court would be next year if he is ready. Smith, Ndour, and Mompremier would surely have to be the most athletic front court combo in the MAC.

Throw Setty in there, and you would also have the skinniest.

I had a chance to talk with JC at the Pomeroy caravan and was VERY surprised with his comments on Mompremier. He said that at this point, he's likely going to be a starter and may well come in and be one of the top big men the MAC has seen in a while. The coaching staff is extremely high on this kid...apparently think he is an absolute steal.

As an aside, I was shocked at how high JC was on next year's team. It's clear that he likes having some height and muscle...will be very interesting to see how that plays out!

As far as starting next year, are you sure he wasn't referring to Maurice Ndour?
