6-9, 210 center from Miami FL.  Reported the 36th best center in his class....not a whole lot on him...perhaps a late bloomer?

Wadley Mompremier – 6’8 Class of 2013 BF – Miami Senior: Each time we see Wadley he shows improvement.  This time out, he showed he could put the ball on the floor and get to the basket, make passes in transition, and turn, face, and score from the short corner.  Wadley is still getting comfortable with his size and some of his movements are a bit awkward.  He’s got broad shoulders and a good frame so as he gets stronger and fills out his ability to play inside will improve.

Most services show him getting a lot of offers and interest.

Haha, news travels fast these days...Rivals just changed him to a solid commit to Ohio minutes after the post appeared here!

#35 in red, full game, part 1 and 2 below...no real highlight films of just Mompremier

Well he's either 6'8" or 6'9" or  6'10 which is all good........add Cleveland State to that lengthy offer list which includes Big 10 school Northwestern and Kron.

Monroe just got his Big Manz...he looks every bit of 6-9 and he looks nothing like Andy Kanzig.

Looks raw, but with tremendous upside.

Awesome!  Looks like a good compliment next to Campbell.  Liking the 2013 class so far!  Need another wing to finish it up!

In searching for something about Wadley, I came across this bball message board called Monarch Nation which had a recruiting thread with this June 2012 post:

"Wadley Mompremier – 6’8 Class of 2013 BF – Miami Senior: Each time we see Wadley he shows improvement. This time out, he showed he could put the ball on the floor and get to the basket, make passes in transition, and turn, face, and score from the short corner. his verbal is probably another sign that Allen won't be coming here.

Sounds like he could be a load by his sophomore year of college.  If he could be an immediate impact player, the high majors probably would have been all over him.  Good mid major recruiters are able to identify talent like Wadley's and develop them into really good players by their soph or junior seasons.  Keep them around through their senior years and you have something.  I'm really excited about this verbal and hope it all works out for our basketball program and Wadley.

Also, some of the other schools who offered him are very good programs.  That always makes me feel good.

Seems like he might be a kid with lots of upside but still developing. The two guys who stand out to me as coming in raw and going out  seasoned players were John Devereaux and KVK. Hope this kid is one of them, though John
was POY in the MAC so that would be a bit of a push.

DeVaughn fit a similar mold too.  His freshman year he was primarily brought in to spell Leon and KVK and block an occasional shot.  By his senior year, he had developed a good offensive arsenal.

I dunno - but this kid seriously needs a real "baller" type nickname! Maybe he already has one we don't know yet.......

His nickname needs to be Wad, as in "nice shot by Wad".

Looks like JC is looking for a bit more size than JG did.  It is the one thing you can't teach and it is the one thing the mid majors usually don't get thus setting them apart from the Top 20 type teams.

Don't forget Groce signed 6'10 Ethan Jacobs and was set to bring in 7 footer Anthony Allen too.

agree with Stub, sounds like a real coup if he develops.  Thanks for mentioning John Deveraux...I think by his senior year he could have played for virtually anyone in the country.  If this kid turns out to be half the player John was, I think we'll all be pretty pleased.

Danny Nee said his one regret as coach of the Bobcats was not redshirting Deveraux. He was a late bloomer, only starting to play hoops as a h.s. sophomore in NYC.
