More local opponents - even if not of the "big time" variety - would be preferable to the SWACtion we are usually subject to. Give me Wright State, Cleveland State, Robert Morris, Duquesne, NKU, Morehead State, etc. over Arkansas Pine Bluff.
All of those schools are a tier higher than the SWAC and MEAC.

How about this, who would you rather see us play: Pine Bluff or Wooster?

No Robert Morris.

From an entertainment standpoint? I'd much rather see us play top-level D3 programs like Wooster and Marietta. Many of them have local kids that can play.

I realize the logic of playing a few SWACtion schools, but it stinks for those of us paying premium prices to watch it.

Any word on when the full schedule will be released? Or at least the full non-conference?

Can someone check with the SWAC and MEAC offices on their schedule releases as most of our games will be inclusive of their member schools.

Four Saturday home games, one against Akron. That's probably gonna get changed to a Friday night and screw everything up.

It's an average schedule. I kinda wish we weren't bookending the conference schedule with home games that students won't be around to see.

The MAC, releasing it's conference schedule on August 1st? Hell is surely going to freeze over soon.

Interesting that the schedule has been moved back a little later by a week this year. Plus side, looks I might get to take a Saturday trip to Muncie this year!

EDIT:

Also, there are a ton of good Saturday games this year both home and away. Along with at Ball State, we have at Toledo, at Miami, at Akron on Saturday's. Four Saturday Conference home games, plus the Friday night Miami game. Of course as noted above, how many end up being moved to Friday for CBSSN?

Agree - I see a lot of Saturday driving that I will enjoy, and not just to Athens (and hopefully the drives back home....)

Add @ Detroit Mercy to the murderers row slate on 12/15.

“Mercy” being contextual here.

South Carolina State released today as well and it seems someome dropped the ball not getting us our marquee MEAC opponent this year. Breathe, LOVE. Breathe.

Based on what you have posted GoCats, I'd say there's only room for a max of 5 more games in there.

So of the 5 confirmed games on the schedule above (Iona, Marshall, Xavier, Mercy, and Purdue), four of those games are against 2018 NCAA tournament teams...and we've still got bellyaching about the strength of the schedule.

As of now, this is a really good schedule. I imagine the remaining games will be weaker than what shows now, but this is setting up to be pretty good overall.

South Florida in Jamaica is confirmed. Georgetown is only a possibility at this point.

Someone will always complain about the schedule. How my friend Buckeye to Bobcat left that out of the BA Soap Opera thread is a certain over sight. ;)

Georgetown only happens if they and we win the first game, correct?

From Austin Peay's schedule release:

The Jamaica Classic closes out in Athens, Ohio, Nov. 24, with a Thanksgiving weekend contest at Ohio.
