More local opponents - even if not of the "big time" variety - would be preferable to the SWACtion we are usually subject to. Give me Wright State, Cleveland State, Robert Morris, Duquesne, NKU, Morehead State, etc. over Arkansas Pine Bluff.
We’ve had Urbana, Shawnee and Marietta, you cannot get much more local than that! All closer than the schools you named.

Obviously I was referring to closer D1 schools. Although most years, Marietta would give many of them a run for their money!

Are we going to play a non-conference schedule or are we going to wait until January to stay healthy and fresh? Surprised it is taking them this long to announce their non-league when we have to find out from other schools that we're playing them.

It's the same thing every year. I believe full schedule always comes out first week of September if I remember correctly.

It was released on 8/9 last year. I think it's typically closer to labor day though.

Sounds about right....it does seem like it takes forever.

In fairness, I haven't seen many (if any) complete schedules for any team/school out there yet. I'm at least pleased to see the MAC release the conference schedule early.

As of today there are 223 of 353 schedules released....and if I read correctly, all but Ohio and Ball State have released their full schedules. Good showing.

So who is mining those 223 known schedules to determine the majority of our unknown (as yet) games?

I stand corrected. I hadn't seen releases, but obviously I didn't look hard enough.

EDIT - I look quickly at UC, UD, Butler, and Ohio State. Only OSU has the full season schedule on their website.

I'm aware, was being sarcastic in the fact we had the league schedule for a change and are still waiting on the non-con for once.....

The work is already done by @TheD1docket. Here's the link to their spreadsheet where all schedules are tracked: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uRiv3YDq67asL1C-SW0zxzZEKwi8Tkl6J2bHGK0hcZ4/edit?usp=sharing

So we're waiting on 3-4 more games to be released, which will include the home opener. Makes me wonder if they're working on one bigger game up to the last possible minute.

I thought we were playing only two games in Jamaica: USF for sure and then either Georgetown or Loyola Marymount. I believe Austin Peay is part of the Jamaica deal, and we will also get a home game from either Campbell, Central Connecticut, or FAMU.

I'm editing the schedule. I forgot Ted posted a while back that we know when the USF date is.

So it looks like we just need to add about 4 games. One exhibition, one DIII, two home games against low to mid majors would be my guess.

Curious as to why they list Loyola Marymount without a mention of it possibly being Georgetown.

My only criticism this year, is the same as every year since we've switched to semesters:

Dad's weekend on an Exhibition game Saturday is a BIG missed opportunity by the combination of Ohio Athletics and Ohio University as a whole.

Otherwise, I'm really happy with this schedule.

I'm for the most part fine with this schedule except for it beginning with a whimper. As has been said, Dad's weekend being an exhibition is a waste and the home opener being on a weekday vs an NAIA school is weak. Campbell and Austin Peay have a pulse and Radford, Iona, and Marshall were tourney teams last year. FIU is mediocre, but a CUSA school is better than Coppin State or Maryland Eastern-Shore.
