Simpson may be bad enough to lose his job midseason to Simmons. The kid should have stayed. You don't play the green and white. Go Cats

He graduated! He left town to pursue a graduate degree among other things. So you hate Jaaron and Dozier. Anyone else?

Actually, I don't hate anything when it comes to OHIO basketball. In fact, I've never used that word concerning any current or former player on this forum. But thanks for trying to insinuate that.

I doubt Jaaron (or most other grad transfers) make their decision based on pursuing a graduate degree. Although, in theory, that's why the NCAA instituted the grad transfer rule.

I think the main reason Jaaron left Ohio for Michigan hasn't been revealed yet: while Ohio is just now returning from a trip to Charleston, Michigan is beginning a visit to Maui.

I'd be willing to bet the players are much more supportive of him than this board. And that's not meant as a criticism of this board.

So continually making negative comments, as well as false ones, about Simmons and Dozier isn't throwing them under the bus? Classy to pick on guys 18-21 years old. FYI .. Simmons didn't dribble out the clock intentionally as you've suggested multiple times. But nice try in trying to backpedal.

Simmons is a man who hopes to play pro ball next year, this is very light scrutiny. Simmons chose to tell his fellow bobcats, no thank you, I can’t take this team to the tournament I am going to Michigan. I am a Bobcat fan before I am a Simmons fan. He may have shook my hand or signed my bobcat doll, but I can’t defend his actions. Peace Simmons, go Cats

Watching Michigan-LSU game tonight. Simmons looks like he knows what he is doing in there, I expect he will play a lot if not eventually start. Wolverines look formidable. I don’t know about NBA chances but NCAA tourney looks possible.

Jerry...please review my posts and find where I said Simmons "intentionally" dribbled out the clock? Let me save you some time because I never said that. He never made a pass or took a shot. The clock was dribbled out because of poor decision making in crunch time by an experienced point guard. I think just about everyone here on this board would agree with that. But continue to make things up that you think I said just to fit your narrative.

From ESPN Hoops writer Jeff Goodman last night on Twitter:

"Somewhat surprising late-night results with LSU knocking off Michigan in Maui. LSU frosh Tremont Waters had 21 and 4 while John Beilein didn't get much from his point guards."

Simmons line: 15 minutes...0 points...1 assist.

IHis line tonite looks brutal. A few minutes played, 2 missed lay-ups, 1 to and 1 pf. This in a blowout win against Chaminnade.

I've gone through stages on this.....initial reaction was anger, then I got over it and was indifferent, and now I'm starting to feel somewhat bad for him.

Great point^^^^. And if this continues, does J Smooth even finish out the season in Michigan? That stat line against D2 Chaminade certainly impresses all those NBA scouts in attendance at a big-time tournament. #Kirk>Simmons

Look at the positive, he's got a 2:1 assist to turnover ratio. 8 assists to 4 turnovers (enter sarcastic laugh)

I really haven’t paid much attention to his situation after his announcement but I just for curiosity’s sake checked the box score last nite and was stunned at his lack of minutes. I would think he may be suffering from Transferer’s Remorse. To go from 40 minutes a game and be the Head Bus Driver to what is looking more like mop-up duty in your last year of collegiate ball makes one wonder what the thought process was. Just sad but oh well that’s life I suppose. As the saying goes the grass isn’t always greener.

Dan Dakich is sometimes insightful and sometimes full of crap. He made a comment on the Michigan p.g. situation during last nite's broadcast.

Three guards in the mix: Simmons, Xavier Simpson (Ohio's Mr. Basketball in '16) and a freshman named Brooks, who is getting most of the minutes.

Dakich said the reason the freshman plays the most is that he appears to understand both the offensive and defensive systems better than the other two right now. That's particularly disturbing re: Simpson as he's in his second full season while Simmons and the freshman are just getting started...

Dakich also mentioned during this game that the grad transfer rule does no favor to mid majors, using Simmons' situation as an example.
