Has Simmons started looking for a fourth college to end his career?
Would not surprise me if he quits on this team during the season. I'm sure his soon to be agent is already calling pro teams in Turkey and Greece.

Isn't hiving an agent before the season is over still an NCAA violation?

I hate cheering against Jaaron, but I think it could be in our benefit. If Jaaron does not have success this year, this may be fuel to use against the next athlete looking to do this from OHIO.

Thus, "soon to be agent".

Speaking on the grass isn't always greener on the other side conversation, it was nice to see Jeremy Fears back in the Convo today.
Agreed. Good memories, even if for just one season.

During the postgame interview Kirk said he would pull out the backflip when the moment was right.

That stat line off the bench will not get you in the NBA no matter what conference you’re in.
Maybe but on the bright side he will have slightly improved his seat for the NCAA tournament games.

1.5

The second season when he went toe-to-toe with Rondo was fantastic basketball.

Looks like Jaaron is having another rough night so far for UM...hasn't scored through the first half vs. Central Michigan.

5 points and 2 assists tonight. Strangely, Beilein took him out with 5 seconds left. Why not let him dribble out the clock and show those NBA scouts what he excels at best?

I guess I'd rather focus on players who are on our team. JS disappointed us, but it was his decision. Maybe he's happier up there. Who knows? From all Saul has said about him, he's an upstanding young man. I hope the best for him.

Watched part of the game last night and Jaaron actually sparked Michigan when he came in in the second half. They were down 48-47 when he entered the game and on his first two possessions he hit a 3 and then drove the lane and kicked to a shooter for another 3. They never looked back. But I'm sure he's sitting there right now (in my best Gob Bluth voice) "I think I made a huge mistake."

In other transfer news Wadley Mompremier had 11 points, 1 rebound and 1 assists in 14 minutes off the bench for Little Rock as the fell to D2 Ouachita Baptist 81-79. Not sure if Khari Harley's back is still an issue because he is on the roster but did not play.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Found this quote in The Athletic on the Wolverines point guard situation:

That's why Simmons and Beilein met for a private conversation. Beilein, never one to suffer timidity, laid out the facts. In data compiled in practice, Simmons was being sharply outperformed.

“I wanted to show that he has to be a better player if he wants to get on that court and that his defense has to really be better as well,” Beilein told The Athletic. “Jaaron can be a really good player, but if he's not going to guard people, and if he's not going to take care of the ball and make good decisions, then repetition (in practice) doesn't mean anything.

“He gets that,” Beilein continued, “and he's worked really hard, but he's had some tough practices. He's better than that. And we know it.
“That was the message.”

I am impressed with Beilein for toeing the line. I feel sorry for Jaaron, he could have stayed and worked out his kinks.

If Jaaron would have stayed he would have averaged 16 ppg, 8 apg and 2 spg while leading this team yet again to a 20-win season, and, in my opinion, an NCAA berth. He could have strutted his stuff in the NCAA Tournament and been MAC POY, an Honorable Mention All-American and someone that left a legacy. He will now be forgotten in a few years and will end what was a great previous two years with 4 ppg, 2 apg and 10 minutes per game of playing time. Kirk may average more points than Jaaron averages minutes. I find it sad and do not wish ill will for him. I also do not feel bad for him at all.

"There’s not a day goes by that I don’t feel regret. Not because I’m in here and because you think I should. I look back on the way I was then, a young, stupid kid who committed that terrible crime. I want to talk to him. Try and talk some sense into him. Tell him the way things are. But I can’t. That kid’s long gone, and this old man is all that is left. I gotta live with that." -- Ellis Boyd Redding

Not sure what the Wolverines practice schedule might be, but any chance Jaaron watches the Clemson game which tips off in a few minutes and what his thoughts might be during the game?

Some of you are like the jealous boyfriend who stalks his old crush to see if the next boy looks better in the shower than you do. Simmons is gone, he’s not looking back, because there is no looking back.

I am sure that he will follow the Cats, he played with some of the guys for years. If he does not break into the starting line up, he will definitely have regrets. It is normal for people to second guess decisions that don't work out as planned. Maybe he becomes a graduate assistant there next year. Is John Sanderson still at Michigan? He is a former cat. I wonder if he is helping poached players like Levert from us.
