Congrats to Jaaron! Couldn’t be more proud for the former bobcat for wanting more and receiving it! Never allow people to tell you what you can’t do, show them what you can. Good luck! Go Blue.
Did he receive more though? His team certainly received more but I'm not sure if he had a chance to redo it he would. He might still choose to transfer to a bigger program but I'm guessing he was probably regretting the decision most of the season. He didn't transfer to Michigan to ride the pine and unless he has a really good game tonight he actually may have hurt his pro prospects with the move.
Your right, losing in the first round of the mac tournament is better than winning the big ten tournament and playing in the national championship game.
The question is what he would have done for himself. I believe he would have been MAC Player of the Year this season, and showcasing himself that way would certainly have drawn more scouting attention than averaging 5 minutes and sitting out about every other game at UM.

He can polish his ring all he wants, but his pro prospects certainly aren't better after a season on the bench than they would have been starring for OU.
What does it say about the MAC that a MAC POY hardly gets playing time on a Big Ten team?

Thank you for clarifying that. But I was responding to the post that said he believes he would have won the MAC POY this year.

It says that every situation is different.

Shannon Evans went to a decent Arizona State team and became one of their two best players.

Matt Stainbrook went to Xavier and became an important starter on a Sweet 16 team.

Abdel Nader became an important piece at Iowa Stat's Sweet 16 team and went to the NBA.

Stainbrook was an interesting dude. He was huge (horizontally) at Western, went to X and slimmed down considerably and was a really solid player.

It says that Jaaron didn't do his homework when picking his next destination. There are plenty of big programs he could have gone to and started and done well. Saul was willing to put up with his defensive deficiencies. Beilein wasn't.

From what I've heard, Beilein also wasn't willing to put up with Jaaron's tendency to turn the ball over.

I don't know for sure, but something tells me that checking onto the floor on Monday night at the National Championship game, he may have been glad to have transferred to Michigan (homework or not).

I could be the CEO of a $100 million dollar organization or work as a low level staffer at Amazon.

Leader v. Follower.

Easy choice.

Exactly. I was reluctant to respond because I felt this should be the last post in this marathon of a thread, but I couldn't resist.

The more appropriate analogy is that the kid went from working as an assistant manager at the "Dollar Store" to working as part of a slick, hip, and effective team at "APPLE." The kid made the right choice, so give him his due and move on as Bobcatzblitz suggests.

So sad when the Dollar store eliminated Apple from the NCAA tournament.

when you think of us that way, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy. no backbone whatsoever from so many of our fans.

Hey, without dollar stores, who would sponsor our bowl games at Ladd-Peebles Stadium?

Just think, if he’d have stayed. He’d probably be playing next to LeBron in LA.

No way, would have been MAC POY and had a great shot at a high draft pick. I mean what a horrid decision

I agree it was a horrid decision, but do you really think he would have been a high round NBA draft pick? You are better at assessing basketball talent than I'm, so I'll say that you may be right, but this statement surprises me. Anyone else?
