It does seem like all signs point to Dior. While I was hoping for more of a well-rounded wing add, Dior’s shooting is necessary and feels more like a complementary fit to the whole puzzle.

On paper I think we’re a better team than we were when the season ended. Instead of being a bunch of parts that didn’t mesh well a lot of times, the new roster seems more cohesive.

I know Simmons is the big addition, but I’m really excited about what Breath brings as a paint presence. Per 100 possessions, he had the best defensive rating in the SoCon last season in tandem with 19ppg and 20rpg. Just seems like such a strong sleeper add. Especially combined with Simmons.

For a cool million per year! (is the rumor)

Would have been head exploding if the K-State was 13 miles east of Zipland......

I am excited to get some guys with swagger because we have been bland and vanilla with AJB, AJC, and even Reef at times. Now we have Captain Chaos with guys like Conners and Simmons as well as frosh like Kelly to match Akron or Kent type of swagger.

A milly for Nate huh?

This sport is so screwed along with mid-major hoops.

I couldn't agree with you more. Johnson is a very good player. I would take him in a heartbeat but is he a million dollars good? Watching our football guys bolt ticks me off the most. At least Boals has, in my opinion, absolutely killed it with three new guys from the portal to go with Elliott, Pavs, Hadaway and Sheldon with an option to see where Kuany, Burris and Evans have improved or throw in a few freshmen!

The Ohio Men’s Basketball IG page now follows him and vice versa. Probably just waiting on a graphic for the announcement.

Also, some App State fan twitter page posted he committed to Ohio. I suspect any day now it’ll be official.

As it relates to Akron -- tough blow this late in the portal season.

I feel like Kansas State for example, missed out on some initial targets and lurked in the DM's of Nate Johnson. Likely the case with Okonkwo and Tavari after initially planning to stay.

6’4” guard JaVaughn Hannah (uncommitted) has received interest from the following schools (many others as well):

Evansville
Sam Houston State
Tulsa
UC Santa Barbara
Vanderbilt
Arkansas Little-Rock
Ohio
Illinois State

The 23-24 MAC 6th man of year averaged 12.0 PPG

This would mean we are losing someone else? Or do we get an extra scholly? Right now I see a starting lineup of Pavs, Elliott, Conners, Simmons and Hadaway with Breath relieving Hadaway, Sheldon relieving Pavs and Kelly relieving Conners/Elliott. Then Evans/Kuany/Mosley can relieve Simmons for a few minutes. Burris and Fisher can get some work here and there. Who knows though. Maybe Burris is ready. Maybe Fisher will step up. He was the definite leader of that strong Reynoldsburg team this year.

There's a long road between "had some interest from" and a committable offer.

Especially in the case of Vandy on that list who is still recruiting a national top-15 player (guard) and some very elite portal guys.

Hannah entered the portal on March 24. It's possible he is just responding with all of the schools who contacted him since then, and not necessarily who is still hot on him now.

He wasn't a scholarship player though, right?

I like the Conners signing. He looked really good shooting the ball in our building for App St. I feel like it's been a while since we've had a consistent/dangerous outside shooter, unless you count Sheldon from 2 years ago. We were spoiled with Nick Kellogg, Jordan Dartis, and the early Roderick years.

Trololol Peyton Sparks is in the portal again.

Don't see how he has eligibility. Not the only one across the landscape that applies to.

I don't think that matters anymore, as the roster limit (and max scholarship limit) are both at 15 now. So with only 14 players, we could theoretically add another AND give him a scholarship.
