And yeah... we're only 100+ RPI spots better...

How are we "slightly" better?

The only thing that could be considered a bona fide win was against "Valpo" who is 71 in RPI.

I know you all think it's cool to get post 18 wins with a very sub par SOS... but get real.

Nah, we think it's cool to beat Geaorgetown in the NCAA tourney. What has Marshall basketball done lately?

Well since that was last year...

I'll bring up that we beat two top 30 teams handily THIS YEAR

Your turn.

This is more discussion than the CIT has ever received anywhere, ever.

Even the guy or gal  who thought it up in five minutes didn't put this much consideration into it.

Good for you.  And all that got you was a nice, shiny invitation to the same tournament we were invited to.

I'm saying you have been playing crappy MAC teams all season and now you get to play a team less than 2 hours away that WAS ACTUALLY NEVER GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN THE MAC WE DID FINISH 4TH IN THE MAC ONE YEAR AND YOU CAN NEVER TAKE THAT AWAY FROM US. OUR FAN'S BOORISH BEHAVIOR IS QUITE LEGENDARY AND WE HAVE A TOTALLY UNEARNED SELF OF ENTITLEMENT.  AND IT'S QUITE FUNNY THAT I'VE COME HERE TO FEEL SUPERIOR EVEN THOUGH BOTH OUR TEAMS ARE IN THE SAME TOURNAMENT. THAT POINT IS COMPLETELY LOST ON ME. NOT SURE IF IT IS THE OVERWHELMING AMOUNT OF FRIED FOODS AND SAUSAGE GRAVY THAT WE CONSUME IN HUNTINGTON OR THE EVER PRESENT COAL DUST LINGERING IN THE AIR DOWN HERE BUT I'M THINKING THERE'S A GOOD CHANCE ONE OF THE BCS CONFERENCES IS GOING TO WANT US TO JOIN SHORTLY.  NEVERMIND THAT WE HAVEN'T BEEN IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT IN 25 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER WON AN NCAA TOURNAMENT GAME.  HECK WE'VE NEVER EVEN WON AN NIT GAME. WE ARE MARSHALL.

Fixed it for you.

Rack him.

Why do you keep bringing up stuff in the past?

We whip your all's asses all the time, and this year hasn't been any different.

You all were like the 6th best team in your conference... and we are better than EVERY team in your conference... so what makes you think we're "slightly" better?

This game won't be close.

Is the MAC so lame these days that you all stick to arguing over typos?

This is just kind of a personal pet peeve of mine but its not a "typo" if you intentionally press the wrong key, its just idiocy.

You think I meant to say "any team if your conference"?

THAT is an UNintentionall typo.

I think you should rethink who you're labeling as the idiot.

Oh cool, you won two games that mean nothing, and I'm not sure who considers Memphis a Top 30 team, maybe SMU and Tulsa who also beat them.

Let me know when Marshall does anything nationally relevant.

It is true that Marshall, over the last third of the season, was playing better basketball than any team in the MAC.  It was an "off" season for the MAC.

Ohio just has to focus on going into the Henderson Center and trying to upset the Herd.  I'm guessing Ohio will be anywhere from a 10-12 pt. underdog in this one.

Why do y'all let opposing fans come on here and get you all inflamed?  Let it be.

I have read some of his posts on the MU boards and he is not the brightest light on the Xmas Tree. My guess is the poster is a kid or one of our " Wal-Mart" fans. Too bad one kid tarnishes the reputation of The Herd Faithful. JMHO.

haha, is there anything more fragile than the ego of a terd fan? why do they even care about little ol OHIO, I thought they were in the big leagues now?

they can try to talk tough over here but all the posts on their boards are about the same things- WVU fans suck, we don't get respect blah blah blah... we're getting our butts kicked in CUSA and we don't get respect, blah blah blah... at least we're not in the MAC anymore but now we don't get respect blah blah blah.

Then one cogent poster inevitably will squeak out "yeah, but we used to win championships and be nationally ranked in the MAC, since then we've only finished above .500 one time." then all the other terd fans starting shouting down capt obvious as their little ravioli hands pound their bacon grease coated keyboards, denouncing he who dare speak the truth. silence!

keep hiding your heads in the sand and telling yourself you're so much superior to MAC schools, and that hydogentated fats are good for you too. hahaha, losers.

What are the odds that we'd get both of the stupd cow fans on our website at the same time?!

Wait a minute.  My bad.  It's the one who's literate and he's posting under two ID's.

(N)Fedale:  Nice logo, say FerrousFelinas as he clears his throat.

Lettuce get to the point:
  • Marshall does have an amazing team this year, and likley did deserve an NIT Bid.  Plus, great coach, I hope he stays for a while.  Dude has killer passion for the game.
  • C-USA was also a much stronger conference this year than the MAC(way down).  Athletes in C-USA were incredible.
  • That said, this is a snapshot in time.  Much like the first few years Marshall came into the MAC in football, they ruled the roost, actually help entire conference get better.  The last couple/few years Marshall was in MAC, they were also rans.  The MAC caught up, and Marshall figured they better get out while gettin was good
  • That said II, tell me when Marshall was successful in Basketball in the MAC, as I cannot remember one year....
  • It's all cyclicle, sometimes Marshall has a good BBall program, sometimes they do not.  Sometimes(Grobe era) OHIO has a good football program, since very mediocre.....
  • C-USA/MAC both mid-major programs, and as much as I hate to say will always be. Sometimes high mid-major, some times low mid-major
  • Lastly, I am glad to see Marshall has expanded the past few years to actually cover a couple city blocks....Good job 2-Block U!  I swear I could roll across Marshall's entire campus, in the time I could walk across one of OHIO's incredibly picturesque and historic greens!

I know facts and knowledge are not the specialty of Marshall people, but the suggestion most students want to cut athletics is laughable.

Hey, when I taught at Marshall in the 1970s, we made it to the prestigious NIT and lost a first round game to the very prestigious Fairfield University Whatevers. It was a classic struggle of titans!

Because that's a huge influence in my college decision........big areas of grass that belong on my mom's calendar. WOOT

Also, ask any college student if they enjoy treks across campus in January. I have a fair share of friends at OU and they loathe walking 20 minutes everywhere on crappy brick streets in the snow.

As for the matter at hand (the game), you will be lucky to be within 10 of the final score. Our team is stacked.
