1.) You are crazy if you think anyone is getting on a bus and coming to Huntington for this game.
2.) Marshall is considered slightly better than Ohio. If the Herd was that much better, they would be in one of the marquee tournaments, like the CBI.
3.) You might rip on the MAC, but all my friends that are Marshall alums hate being in Conference USA. You have no rivals and travelling to games is not an option anymore.
1. Your team will be on a bus... so you're already lying.
2. I think "slightly" is a stretch... See: RPI and games against top 50.
3. I'd rather watch Marshall vs ECU/UCF/USM on TV... than go to Akron for a football game.
I'm just trying to make you all feel better about the situation.
I thought you were talking to the fans. There will be no fans going.
Marshall is, in fact, only slightly better. I'm not the one saying that. The selection committees at the NCAA, NIT, and CBI have said that by your omission in their tournaments. Marshall won the heads-up game by 8 points. The Herd isn't Kansas.
You might like watching those football games on TV, but the fan support is clearly worse than it was when 10,000 fans would get in their cars and drive to Akron on a Saturday afternoon. I would even argue that your fan support was better in the Southern conference. UTEP might be a better S.O.S. game, but the Joan isn't rocking like it used to. The Herd caravan for road games in the 90's is long gone.
