With the 3 games Louisville and Ohio have played in the GSI they are both 3 and 0. Louisville is avg. 68.3 points to 41 a game and shooting 40.3% to their opponents 25.7%!!!!! 25.7!!!!! CRAZY. OHIO is avg 76 to 65.6 points and shooting 41% and holding the opponents to 42.9. I don't see Louisville putting a lot of points on OHIO. But we need to be on fire to win the game. Does Louisville have the best defense in college basketball?
I don't think you can judge their defense YTD as best in NCAA at all. Sure, it's real good, however all of their opponents so far have not been high scoring avg teams (even Butler). Their opponents assts have also been low. I think we have an edge vs their prior oppts on both those - we have more weapons, spread it around better, and have more to rotate off the bench.
I'll say if we score 70, or hold them to 64 (in regulation) we win. We could really get them into foul trouble w/a lot of penetration, post moves around the basket (Baltic/Keely/Offutt), etc. A Lot has to work right to win this game - FT's %, stay outta foul trouble, TO's, stop play w/time outs when they hit a stride, rebounding margin, sharp/decisive (no lazy) passing, maintain composure and energy for 40 full minutes......of course all obvious. But with where L'Ville is right now (and I think Pitino knows better than the players do) - we have a shot! Take It!
