This has been a disastrous week for the MAC.

Can't beat anyone of substance.
Kent losing to Charleston isn’t really disastrous. Its only loss is UNC; meanwhile its beaten VT, Richmond, Davidson, Colorado State, Chattanooga, and now Kent. Might be this season’s mid-major darling.
Why I said…”beat anyone of substance”.

KEnt led most of the game. Would have been a Q1 win for Kent and the MAC.

Kent giving #2 Houston all it can handle early in 2nd half.
Sincere Carry 2-22 from field…I mean huh?

Reminiscent of DJ 3-17 against UNC in sweet 16.

Arguably would’ve been the biggest regular season win in MAC history to knock off #2 team in country.

CMU looking pretty average against CBU.

Had to look CBU up. Just got home from HS hoops to see Chips down 8

Ah, misread that initially.

I was in an area of poor phone reception yesterday but I did get an upset alert notice for the Kent State-Houston game. I tried to see if I could watch the ending. I was only able to see a very brief snippet that included what I would classify as one of the most egregious non-calls I’ve seen in awhile. Kent was down a point with 20-some seconds left and the Kent player had the ball about to score at the basket. The Toledo player hit him solidly with his body and; if that wasn’t enough, strongly came straight down with his arm(s) across the arm(s) of the Kent player. The Houston players actually paused from playing, obviously thinking there was a foul too. After a few awkward seconds they started playing again. The announcers seemed taken back by it too. At that moment I lost my signal completely.

No. Houston did not have any players from the Toledo Rockets (or Houston Rockets for that matter). Sorry about that. :)

Watching EMU losing to UC San Diego on my laptop while Ohio plays Alabama St. on TV, it's starting to look like Stan Heath has already lost his team. Too much talent to be 1-5 and going through the motions in today's game.

Now 0-6 with Bates in the lineup. Since shooting well (12/19) vs Michigan in his opener, he has gone 6/14, 7/16, 6/15, 4/14, and 5/17 while averaging 3 turnovers to 1 assist per game. I'll be the first to admit, I have not seen any film from those 6 losses (outside of vs Michigan). What I do know is what I saw last year when I watched several of the Memphis games in which he played. The talent is clearly there, but he played reckless and took a ton of difficult, forced, low-percentage shots.

Has anything changed?

3 TO to 1 Assist tells me all I need to know. That's dreadful.

Will not shock me if Bates doesn't last the season at EMU.

Possible, but equally likely is that he's waiting for the conference season to light it up and will break an EMU scoring record in that other Convo against OHIO.

Akron's Enrique Freeman and Xavier Castenada is the best inside-outside duo in the MAC. Just don't think Groce has enough other weapons to help them out. They're going to miss Ali Ali Ali. Zips hanging tough with Miss. St.
You've really changed your outlook on UA in three weeks.

Another fantastic effort out of Kent. Leading Houston and Gonzaga in final 3 minutes and they let it slip through their fingers. Carry shoots a combined 5-36 in both games which is hard to fathom.
