Did I miss the memo about the NCAA changing the lane violation rule to 6 seconds? Because Dickinson in camping in the lane for 4 to 5 seconds on most UM possessions.

Lairy had almost half of Miami's points. They hung in there.

Miami has some nice young pieces that are getting baptized by fire. Several guys that could make a huge impact for them are out hurt. Morgan Safford, Columbus native and Wofford transfer, apparently had a tremendous training camp but he had a rough injury against Evansville. They have a sophomore big out of Cincinnati, Curtis Harrison, who showed some promise last year also out.

Was thinking the same thing about Miami youth (and I didn't need a quote box to help with comprehension). Lewis, Smith, Yofan and Tatum are frosh/soph getting minutes and Mabrey is a frosh coming out of high school with 3 stars.

NIU is also getting a lot of minutes from underclassmen. Both NIU and Miami are picked to end the year at the bottom of the MAC but should be better in the near future.

(On second thought, it's no longer wise to predict a team's fortunes beyond the current season due to the portal)

Went to the game Friday v Columbia. Another good win for 3 in a row. Tough sledding coming up including a trip to London for a game v Marist right after A10 Fordham. Changing a culture and building a program. Can't find a shirt up there. THey all say UMaine Women's Basketball. Sustained success will do that.

UT loss is a headscratcher. But two nice MAC wins from UB and especially Akron beating WKU, 3-0 coming in.

In Akron's win v. WKU, the Zips had a 43-16 rebounding edge. Don't think I've ever seen such a rebounding differential. For those wanting OUr 6-11 transfer from Louisville to be more of a presence on the glass, WKU started a 7-5 center who ended up with 0 rebounds. Yes, 7-5. And yes, 0 rebounds.

Terrible day for MAC. Maybe not a bounce back year after all.

Goes 0 for 5 following BG loss at ND. Sam Towns gets first start and goes for 9 pts and 4 rebounds.

As I've posted elsewhere, MAC teams just can't seem to pull off wins in close games v. non-conference opponents. Akron, up 7 at the final media time out, loses by 4 to a good Nevada team. Maybe Kent can hang on to a 2nd-half lead v. Charleston, a team that has impressive wins v. Davidson, Richmond and Va. Tech.

Another EMU loss today, but wins from UT, CMU and NIU.

Of course Kent can't hold on. Charleston goes up 2 with a 3 with about 20 seconds left and Carry misses a 3 at the buzzer.

Kent losing to Charleston isn’t really disastrous. Its only loss is UNC; meanwhile its beaten VT, Richmond, Davidson, Colorado State, Chattanooga, and now Kent. Might be this season’s mid-major darling.

KEnt led most of the game. Would have been a Q1 win for Kent and the MAC.

Kent giving #2 Houston all it can handle early in 2nd half.
