And, there it is again. We go to double team guy on the sideline. Leave the guy at the top of the circle wide-open three. Bingo.

Wonder what the deal with Cornish is? Seems to me he’s got to play a lot more.
I know the deal with Cornish, it just makes people here very, very emotional thinking about it.
Halfway through the season, I’m not ready to give up on Cornish.

But…he’s soft…sorry…but true.
The play where he got the ball in space and got fouled is a perfect example. He had 6 inches on the guy that rotated over, and was lucky to be fouled on his way up. Went up very soft.
You call that soft. My thought watching that play was "un-athletic".

Biggest defensive possession of the game, give up a wide open three even with the nail. Can't give up a better look than that.

I'm obviously bear-ish on Cornish, but I don't think lack of athleticism is the issue with him.

I know we have much bigger issues, but these are the worst uniforms we’ve had since I can even remember.

Looks like those mid-2000’s NFL uniforms where everyone thought they had to have some weird futuristic font and anything but a solid side stripe.

The huge white bar at the bottom of the shorts…? Just a horrible, horrible uniform.

Need to go back to those “throwbacks” plain simple uniforms of even back in the Boals era. Crisp. Clean.

Giving up 80 points again. Our defense really sucks.

I take back everything I've said about this squad all year. They are not a good team and it's starts with the coach down to the players.

They have talent but their roster construction is poor and they've fallen apart. They're good enough to play tight games with almost anyone but their execution in critical moments is awful.

We're looking at an average (maybe worse) MAC team.

An open invitation to Clayton and Wiz: You are cordially invited to the lane and the space under the basket. I do not care that you scored 14 and 9. It is worthless if you have ZERO frigging rebounds. And to IJ Ezuma: you can go away now. Time for you to go to JUCO. How does Boals get so much credit for his recruiting at OSUcks and then comes here and whiffs more than wins. I was all about him but without Saul's 2 shiny toys in JP and BVP, he has done nothing. Finally, EJ4, please graduate a Bobcat. You are all I have faith in anymore.

Well, Ohio finally got a 3 from a guard with 21 seconds left in the game. Yet, still sitting on 0 rebounds from Wiz/AJC.

I don't think he seems overly quick or very strong in the upper body. He reminds me of a forward at a D-2 or NAIA school.

It's all relative. He's an athlete if you put him in a pickup game at Ping or Grover (for us old-timers). Not an athlete when in a DI game.

Jaylin Hunter has to be one of the biggest disappointments in the league this year.
We should start Ajay Sheldon IMO.

Interestingly, OU has 16 points off turnovers... (13 t.o for WMU, 5 for OU)

But they give up so many offensive rebounds it's hard to win any games.

If we don't lead the league in second chance points I would be flat out stunned.

JR Shumate was a D2 post who was First Team All MAC. Players are players and we don't have players.

Hill for BG played at South Union which is JUCO I think. NAIA maybe.

Though it’s truly hard to imagine how different this team would look if there was any threat whatsoever in the paint allowing some open shots outside or some movement around the key.

Couldn’t have said it better myself… players are players, and we don’t have players.

Bingo 1998, this roster simply does not have enough complete “players” when you start to check all the boxes you want when you evaluate a “player”. Everybody seems to check a box or two. But those are out weighted by the negatives each has. I won’ name names but…For example, a player might be a really good shooter, good ball handler and above average passer. However, the players defense and athleticism might be below average for a guard in the MAC.

Due to injury issues and (cough-cough) potential academic misery (not naming anybody in particular)...you have to overstock on athletic basketball players. If some of your guys don't end up getting recruited over...this is where you end up. Our guys battled to the end today on the road but we just don't have the needed quality of depth.

I said all the way back after the Otterbein scrimmage that this team seemed to have stretches where that D-3 school was keeping it too close and that it was a bad sign. Well.....

Lots of schools missed on him coming out of high school - D1 second team all state and the son of a very successful coach as evidenced by his two D1 sisters. Not sure why he went to Walsh.

I wasn't dissing D-2 as they get some great athletes...now and then.

Charles Clark who played at D-2 Carson-Newman was one of the most athletic high school players I ever saw. Some of the dunks and long 3-point shots he made in h.s. were amazing. For whatever reason, he turned down some solid mid-major offers (Murray, MTSU, etc) to play at C-N.

JT Shumate's dad, JR, told me a year or two ago that JT wanted to go to Ohio out of high school and again when leaving Walsh and ending up at Toledo.

The good thing is that ESPN predictor matchup has the Cats favored in all the other games except Akron twice, Kent away and Toledo away. Go Cats!
