First team to reach 30 wins.  Stevie's four points were great shots.

Tied at 25 at the half.  We had a golden opportunity when they were shooting frigid but just couldn't get it started.  I've seen a lot of whistles called against us for fouls and travels.  We gotta wake up in the second or we'll lose this game.

Sloppy.  The good news is that we're beating ourselves and we can right that at any time.  We're better than they are, we just gotta play like it.

Serious lack of effort...10 minutes left. No energy..30 minutes in.
Hopefully this will be Ricardo's worst game we see out of him moving forward.
Ndour certainly looks like a guy that is hampered by the ankle. Not bouncing around like he normally does. Really needs to concentrate on catching the ball in traffic too.
Point guards aren't creating much offense and dishing.
Almost predictable with all of the RPI discussion and facing UMASS next week....classic trap.
Focus on getting better.

We slowed the pace down to a Wisconsin pace. Our game has to be run and gun to be successful.

Just a cold shooting night, which happen. Nonetheless, I think this game should temper our expectations a bit. Ugly.

This team can't even hit the rim tonight.
Flat as can be.
Expectations tempered.

Wow...from 11 up to 17 down.  Three fourths of the game we did not show up.  Second half the defense disappeared.  The offense wasn't there all night.  Oh well, that's life on the road...

Just a terrible loss tonight to a terrible team. It's quite obvious that Christian didn't work the officials hard enough because Oakland's coach was talking with at least one official at every stoppage of play. Nick fouling out of a game is practically unheard of.

What a horrific weekend for the MAC and for Ohio especially!

Too many turnovers (18) and way too many fouls (23). Not a lot of help from the bench either Willis, Hall, Johnson, Setty all with 0 points, and 2 from Wilkins.

Jughead, you really live up to your name sometimes. Christian didn't work the officials hard enough?? You think that's obvious??!! Plus, a "Wisconsin pace"?? More like we couldn't shoot the ball.

Wow, a 1-7 team coming in. Seems I got my hopes up for nothing with this team. Oakland lost to the likes of St Francis and WMU.

Embarrassing

Willis had a bad game.

Screw their record, Oakland isn't a bad team and road wins are tough.

I'm confident this team will bounce back.

Haven't posted this concern as it hasn't come to fruition so far this season, but the concern popped it's head up tonight.  Since day one, I've wondered how/where we're going to consistently get points from/score with this roster, especially if it's not a run & gun kind of game.  Fortunately, Nick and now Smith have surpassed all my expectations.  Stevie too has shown glimpses that he can score consistently vs. a nice game here and there.  Still think we have to find Maurice creative ways to get the ball in places he feels comfortable.

Outside of that,  I don't see many other guys who play who can be counted on to score the ball.  Ricardo appeared to have come full circle after the first game and while his offensive game has improved, I still can't count on it.  Wilkins, Campbell, Mompremier, Setty = filling space.  Willis looks like he has it in him, but he's far from being someone you can count on for points.  TJ, not sure what's going on here, but once again maybe a pop here and there, but nothing you can count on.

36.8% from the field, lots of 3 pointers---I still have the concern regarding how we're going to score the ball.  Especially in slower paced games and of course, on the road.  Maybe at home, in fast paced games--not so much.  Unfortunately, we can't play at home every game as it appears we do the early part of each season.

If we can't win on the road against a 1-7 team, with 1300 fans in attendance,  we aren't all that good!
JC must teach these guys how to win away games.
His legacy at Ohio will be tied to whether or not we win road games.

I thought it was tied to if we won in March.
Or was it if he works the refs
Or was it if he abandons the inside game for a team that gets up and down
Or was it if he looks in the camera during post game interviews

cc cat......I appreciate your comments.

To clarify......Over these past few coaching reins we have been successful at home, but fail to win consistently on the road. To move this program along road victories are a must.

Losing games like the one last night is frustrating, and not mailing it in on the road is a hallmark of any good team, but that's not really true. Remember 2012? The season of Ohio's Sweet 16 run included losses at Bowling Green (a horrid effort that I witnessed from the front row), at Toledo, and at EMU. We had a handful of other road losses, but they were to good teams. In 2011-2012, BG, Toledo and EMU were terrible. The sky felt like it was falling when we lost those games, but it wasn't. Programs are measured in March.

I do think there are a number of legitimate concerns with this team, some of which have been expressed in this thread. That said, there's no need to panic at this point. Let's see how they respond.

That s  the response *I *  was waiting for.... JMHO but...The truth is this fanbase will not be happy unless JC gets in the tourney and advances. HE could lose every road game of the conference season and this board would be running around with their hair on fire looking for peices of sky to hit them in the head but truth....if he wins the tourney and advances he will be the darling of Athens. Been there....got the T shirts.

Please do not use expression "score the ball."  It's grating.  Some idiot NBA guy musta started it.  It's up there with "going forward."  Drop each from what you're writing and you'll see no difference (or 'no difference at all' if you want some extree, useless words).  What--you're gonna score something beside the ball?
