Alter ego:  You forgot to warn people that if they choose to drive up US 23 through Ypsi to get to the Pontiac area, pay attention to the signs around Ypsi:  do not...do NOT...pick up hitchhikers in that area because they could be  escapees from the local correctional institution.

BTW, for the "basketball junkies" among us, you would have time to make a short side trip into the quaint town of Adrian, MI, to watch some great NCAA Div. III hoops--the 1-5 Adrian Bulldogs host Carnegie-Mellon (alma mater of the MAC's own Herb Sendek) at 3 p.m.  Plenty of time to enjoy the hoops action and still have time to get to the O-rena in Oakland.

I'm thinking I'm going to Ann Arbor to catch the UM game at noon before heading up to Oakland.

In reading their board it seems like they had their own Stevie Fresh situation just before the season. Ryan Bass, a starter last year, left the team in October to pursue some kind of music opportunity.

Will be attending this game +3.

For anyone attending the game, 5 miles from the Arena is Rochester Mills Brew Pub in Rochester, MI.  They make an amazing Milkshake Stout and have some great food.  I'll definitely be hitting it up after the game.

Is anyone else worried about this game?
I hope I'm wrong about this, but I sense another Morgan State grind it out game.

Thus far the two FJM posts have been pretty high-quality.

I hope they stay that way. Quality trolling is the way to go.

When will you state the ransom you are demanding for taking the spirit of Jeff McK hostage?

I fully expect to have to fight tooth and nail to get out of Oakland with a win.

Oakland is a hard team to get a read on at this early point of the season, due to their tough schedule and lack of home games so far.

Everyone focuses on Bader as Oakland's most dangerous player, but my biggest concern is Corey Petros, a 6-10 forward/center. We seem to have trouble defending big guys like this. Keep in mind that Petros is a wide body and very physical. We will see if Ndour, Smith, Campbell et al can contain him. I expect Oakland to post him up and see if they can get entry passes into him and get our bigs in foul trouble. I'm guessing that teams have to cheat onto Bader and try to double him, which could lead to opportunities for Petros to get shots .

Oakland's defensive stats aren't good. Hard to say what they'd be like with a normal schedule. Hope we can take advantage and score in the half court along with getting out in transition. We have a chance to outrebound these guys and get out and run the ball.

Oakland is a very good FT shooting team, so we have to contain penetration and play solid defense, avoiding grabbing and pushing, etc.

I think this is a game where we need to score a lot of points to win.

It's Ohio State all over again; bonus under ten minutes into the game.

Offense needs to figure something out.

Band nerd alert:

Why are the tubas in front of the band?  And why is there a bass player when they already have 2 tubas?

I'm so confused by this.
