I want to see us hammer this team. The Golden Grizzlies have to be reeling from a brutal start. Hit them with a hard punch early and knock them out.

These guys have played a brutal schedule. Finally played their first home game yesterday. I doubt we're going to stroll in there and get a win.

This article might explain their slow start a little. Two of their starters were accused of sexual assault while they were out West and were subsequently suspended for a few games.  No charges were filed but that's got to mess with a team's chemistry not to mention the talent on the floor.

Does anyone else feel like this is a game we would have certainly lost in the recent past?  On the road against... against a 1-7 team.  I'm thinking this year is different. I just hope its not the green tinted glasses giving me that impression.

For comparison sake, Morgan State is now 1-7 :)  I'm hopeful/optimistic, but I am pretty guarded about road games.

THIS! I'm excited with the season thus far. However, only two road games (OSU & Morgan St.).

I think OU wins this as long as bader doesn't go off so much that he has a career game .

Its safe to say that Bader will prob. get 15-20 points but we should win a tough  game.

I had the same question, cbcruiser. I wouldn't mind letting him sit out this game to get that ankle better -- although ankle injuries never really fully heal.

29 to be exact -- I had to go back and look it up.  I remember that game so well because of his sweet shooting, and all the screaming I did that he's taking the next shot, yet for the 1st half, plus first 8-10 minutes of that second half, we let him get open looks.  Then coach put Ric on him, and Ric shut him down, and OUr guys pulled away.  That's how I recall it anyway.

Jason Arkley tweeted the following:

"JC 'Nothing more than we thought. Jon's got a dislocated finger and Maurice a sprained ankle. Both are...kind of day to day'"

Jason Arkley quotes JC via twitter after both Smith and Ndour saw the doctor on Monday -

JC ~ "Nothing more than we thought. Jon's got a dislocated finger  and Maurice a sprained ankle.  Both are...kind of day to day"

Arkley's take is that both will probably play at Oakland on Saturday.

edit - ^ I guess I was a little slow

A word was requested. I gave a word. As a bonus, I made it related to ankles.

Winter Storm Cleon will be moving through the Ohio-Michigan region on Thursday and Friday. It should pass to the south and barely graze the Pontiac-metro area. The drive up should be sunny and mild. Oakland University sits close to I-75, so if roads are hazardous, they should be well taken care of. Michigan is renowned for its winter weather road maintenance, so road conditions should be fine.

Be careful on the drive home. At this time of the year, deer have picked the cornfield remnants clean near the treelines and will be edging ever closer to roadways.

Do not overlook this scrappy group of Grizzlies. Associate Head Coach Saddi Washington is a WMU Hall of Famer from the Bob Donewald years. He was integral in the NCAA tournament win over Clemson and knows what Ohio basketball is all about.

A couple players are facing some pretty bad allegations, but Travis Bader (@DarthBader3 on the Twitter) is leading the Horizon League in scoring and, like Nick Kellogg, is a NABC Good Works Team candidate for his volunteer work as a reading and math tutor at local elementary schools and a bell ringer for the Salvation Army.
