Good. There should always be a stream option for conference play games.

After a failure in switching from WOW to Time Warner this week, it looks like I'm in search of another way to watch. Anyone know of any bars in the Columbus area that have Time Warner Cable instead of DirecTV?

You'll probably have to call around, but the first place I'd check is the Columbus Square Bowling Palace.  The last time I was there (more than a year ago) it seems to me their TVs weren't hooked to a satellite.  They also have a bar there, so you could watch without so much bowling noise.

Also, if you have TWC's high-end internet service you might be able to get ESPN3.  We got it during football season; I haven't checked during b-ball.

Sorry, I guess they have Directv

There's always firstrowsports.

Gresso's on South High Street is Bobcat Friendly... Don't know if they have ability to show this game but they are always a good place for Bobcat sporting events that they can show them...even when tOSU is on at the same time.

Kent is a 2 point favorite.  This is a huge game right off the bat.

Maybe the smallest starting five in the MAC.  Henniger is 6-9 but no one else is taller than 6-5; they have a 7-4 guy that we don't have to worry about until next year.  All their other bigs playing less than 15 mins a game.  Still they're +1/game in rebs.  They have depth -- getting about 24 pts a game from the bench, shoot the 3 ok (36%) and hardly turn the ball over at all (about 10/game).  We need to keep our TOs down and take advantage of theirs.  We also need to play Jackson (43%) and Manly (38%) tight on the perimeter or we could see another Rowsey performance.

Good analysis.

We will see how we defend tonight without Ricardo there to guard their hottest players.

I was thinking that this game would be a toss up or Kent favored by 1.  Kind of surprised that Kent was favored by 3 in the Dispatch today.  Could it have something to do with Ricardo's absence?

Making the trip tonight despite Fake Jeff's advice to hold off.  As others have noted, we squeezed out of there with a one point victory last year that I witnessed firsthand.  We were fortunate that they missed a makeable buzzer shot.

We won't have to deal with Chris Evans, who was one of the top three players in the MAC last year.  Randall Holt might be addition by subtraction for Kent State...maybe.  He put up some good numbers and played well at times, but he also hurt the Flashes at times.  The Flashes have reloaded with a deep and talented roster.  This will be very tough.

Being on TWC gives us a  GOod time to test the new service. http://www.ohiobobcats.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/121713aac.html SYnch up the phone with the radio broadcast. Lets you speed up or slow down to control the lag.

I think it is pretty cool to be one of 4 Universities to have this available to us. THose folks at the gamewatches can grab a set of headphones for their smartphones and not have to deviate from their normal steady diet of Russ and ROb.

They may not be big but they are pretty strong.  In the couple of games that I watched them early in the year they did a great job of taking the ball to the hoop.  That's a huge worry with Ric out.   I haven't seen any of their games recently so I'm not sure what has led to their stumbling but they looked very good early on.

Because they do a good job of taking the ball to the hoop, they get to the line a lot.

I remember calling around to several Hilliard/Columbus bars last season in search of one of them having Time Warner, and from what I recall, the only one I could find was Jed's in Mill Run.

With Ric out, I would think that we will play much more zone than we have seen.  Hall and Wilkins do not have the lateral quickness to guard on the outside in a man scheme.  Also, I would think that Nick will have to play more minutes or we will see more of Stevie and Bean in the game together and zone would help with either of those.

Remember, the tweets of @jguymac are in no way affiliated with the MAC. Those tweets are his own. Communications from the MAC's Director of Communications are not actually MAC communications.

Yup, but they haven't been making a lot of them recently.  Their last 3 games have all been at 65% or less from the line.  I think that has something to do with their struggles lately.

I saw over on the Kent board that they're shaking up the lineup, starting 6'8'' Sophomore Chris Ortiz in place of 6'5'' Senior Darren Goodson.

I'll have the sound down simply for the fact that Russ and Rob strategically set up the crowd mike to minimize the banshee.

Ugly first half. Kent's is uglier than Ohio's thank goodness. I don't care how bad the Bobcats look just as long as Ohio can sneak out of Kent with a W.

PS. Not thrilled with the production work by TWC and the commentators are blah.
