Maybe the smallest starting five in the MAC. Henniger is 6-9 but no one else is taller than 6-5; they have a 7-4 guy that we don't have to worry about until next year. All their other bigs playing less than 15 mins a game. Still they're +1/game in rebs. They have depth -- getting about 24 pts a game from the bench, shoot the 3 ok (36%) and hardly turn the ball over at all (about 10/game). We need to keep our TOs down and take advantage of theirs. We also need to play Jackson (43%) and Manly (38%) tight on the perimeter or we could see another Rowsey performance.
Good analysis.
We will see how we defend tonight without Ricardo there to guard their hottest players.
I was thinking that this game would be a toss up or Kent favored by 1. Kind of surprised that Kent was favored by 3 in the Dispatch today. Could it have something to do with Ricardo's absence?
Making the trip tonight despite Fake Jeff's advice to hold off. As others have noted, we squeezed out of there with a one point victory last year that I witnessed firsthand. We were fortunate that they missed a makeable buzzer shot.
We won't have to deal with Chris Evans, who was one of the top three players in the MAC last year. Randall Holt might be addition by subtraction for Kent State...maybe. He put up some good numbers and played well at times, but he also hurt the Flashes at times. The Flashes have reloaded with a deep and talented roster. This will be very tough.
