Is Nick wearing ice skates tonight or did someone spray the bottom of his shoes with Pledge?

We were fortunate tonight...Very fortunate. To survive with so few minutes from Ndour. To have Kent miss soooo many very makeable attempts in the paint. To have Kent make soooo many dumb passes. And honestly to get a few breaks from the refs.

But the defense in the paint really was stellar. Jon and others did a great job sealing it off and creating problems for Kent. I like Travis Wilkins more than most and I think we are going to see him get more of the Rico minutes than we may have expected.

Huge road win. Based on tonight, I'll be surprised if Kent is at .500 in the MAC by season's end. But we'll take it. On to the big one Sunday...can't wait!

Beyond impressed.
Winning at Kent with NDour not even close to playing his "A" game.
Quick thoughts:

Kellogg has a serious shot at winning MAC Player of the Year.
How many shots did we block? Felt like 20.
Active hands in the paint led to steal after steal.
Need to get better at foul line.

Bean's minutes are about to become non-existent. Turnover leads to go-ahead 3 for Kent and then silly foul on 3 point shooter in last 10 seconds. If you can't score and find the open man, you better play defense and not turn it over. When Stevie goes out, I'd rather see Nick move to point and bring in Wilkins in at off-guard. Heck, play Hall at point....has to be better than Bean who isn't showing anything at all.

No need to attack Bean.  He was in at the end of the first half and the Bobcats got out to 7 pt lead.  He didn't play much worse than Mo. Yes, he had an untimely foul.

Outstanding first half defense by OHIO.  Why did OHIO come out in a zone in the second half and completely catch Kent off guard and then go back to man and see Kent's run as OHIO was getting beaten on switches down low?  Perhaps a little more zone at times.

Great seeing Kellogg hit the mid range jumpers--they seemed automatic.

Unsung hero is Wilkins hitting the threes to take the lead when points were tough to come by in the second half.

Would add that Wilkins' 7 boards may have been just as big off the bench.

This is the second year I've heard this woman on the web cast. Honest question: Is she mentally retarded? I think I caught a glimpse of her behind the rim in the second half, but can't be sure. How long has she been doing this?

Also, dude, mentally retarded is not the preferred nomenclature. Special needs, please.

Yes, she has a mental handicap.  She attends all games and I'm sure they are happy to have her as a fan.

I believe she has a disability of some sort, but not sure.  There was a story on here a few years ago about being a super fan.  Whether they have an annoying scream or not, I'm always happy to see dedicated fans in the MAC.

It's always good to beat a solid MAC team on the road.  Doing it when one of your primary scorers has an off night was pretty impressive.  The game had some sloppy stretches and poor shooting on both sides early, but we showed up down the stretch and pulled out the W.  We forced Kent into a lot of bad shots, and as is usually the case, most of them didn't fall.  I was impressed with the defense most of the game, inside and out.  Jon Smith had a very solid game, and Wilkins was huge off the bench with 8 and 7.  Also was glad to see TJ on the floor for quite a while with little foul trouble.  We're going to need that moving forward without Ricardo.  On to Akron!

If TW is going to be broadcasting, hence blacking out, a bunch of our games this season then the MAC better upgrade their streaming capabilities significantly.  My labtop is lucky to have made it through that broadcast without being thrown against the wall.  God awful stream.

Uh, what's wrong with saying she's mentally retarded? That used to be a scientific term, now it's politically incorrect? If someone calls her a 'retard' in a flippant manner, I could see that as disrespectful and potentially offensive, but jeez. Eventually 'special needs' will be deemed offensive and we'll have to come up with another word.

It's not that it's politically correct, it's that DD community has said they don't want to be called "mentally retarded."
