Worried about this one. Lot of depth for Kant. They do appear self destructive but in that high school gym they play in its tough. I think Mo can dominate everyone of their players and if TJ comes to play we can win. Cant wait to make the trip to heckle Henniger. After Matt Staininhispants left western for xavier henniger draws my ire.

Kent State comes into this game losers of two straight, but don’t let that fool you. There are some tough hombres on this Golden Flash squad. Tough hombres like Nick Henninger, a Massillon product leading the team in rebounding with almost 7 per game. He grabs rebounds like he grabs Euro-headbands at a Dollar General: With absolutely no regard for those nearby that may also want some.

The Bobcats are going to have to stop three double digit scorers. Kris Brewer -- although if you’re a friend, you can call him Pooka Duke -- leads that bunch. Derek Jackson is not far behind, but failed to turn in his annual questionnaire for the Kent media guide. Some however, see that as an obvious crack in the Kent State brotherhood. It’s a wonder he’s even on the team given that attitude. And Darren Goodson, averaging 10.4 ppg despite shrinking minutes. Goodson comes out of Cincinnati Aiken and didn’t even consider attending Ohio because it doesn’t have an Applebee’s.

Sometimes winter weather is like last season. We all thought we knew what was going to happen, but then it didn’t, and people who are otherwise reasonable people make observations unsupported by fact.

It will be extremely cold as the team makes it’s way north on Tuesday. One must trust that the bus driver will perform a proper pre-trip inspection of all hoses and air systems. Temperatures will be somewhat more tolerable on Wednesday, but I advise all of Bobcat Nation to give great thought to the necessity of late night travel in these conditions. MAC Center is not a destination worth risking life and limb for, even when our top notch radio team is hamstrung by the lousiest broadcasting perch in the conference. Sit this trip out, friends, and save it for Hate Night on January 12.

I see the ESPN3 webcast. Are webcasts available for all conference games again this year through the MAC website?

TWC telecast, so if you live in Ohio and dont have TWC as your service provider, then I believe you are screwed.

if I remember right both of last years games were won in the final moments. Don't think for a second that Kent will forget about that. I think its safe to say that they will be coming into this game with revenge on their mind. We can't come out flat or they'll make us pay

Making the drive from Buffalo for this game. Looking forward to it.

Should be a tough MAC road contest but hoping Ohio gets the win. Go Bobcats!

But... but... they just put in new counter tops this year... (I can not confirm or deny any new appliances)

Yup.  69-68 at Kent (Randall Holt missed a free throw line jumper as time expired) and 78-75 in OT in Athens (Stevie Taylor for three).

I think Derek Jackson is the player we should be most worried about tomorrow.  He seems to take over games at times, plus hes on of their two best 3 point shooters at 43%.  I think we're also going to miss Ric a lot when it comes to guarding Brewer.  TJ has to stay out of foul trouble.  As a team, they average 11 assists and 11 TOs per game.

Interesting note that Mark Henninger is the conferences leading Ft shooter at 92%.

I'll be there... weather permitting.

I also remembered that Kent students don't start classes until 1/13.  So they start the season with 2 home games, but without students on campus.  They pulled 4500 for Cleveland State on a Saturday in late December.  Wonder how many people will be there Wednesday.

Seriously, I'm having a hard time figuring out how this is better than no tv deal at all.

I agree with that...especially when you live in Ohio, have TWC as your service provider, and you still don't get the channel. Awesome!!!

After a failure in switching from WOW to Time Warner this week, it looks like I'm in search of another way to watch. Anyone know of any bars in the Columbus area that have Time Warner Cable instead of DirecTV?

I have TWC, live in Southern Ohio, south of Chillicothe.  It is listed in our area as scheduled on channel 1311, TWSMD.  I have it marked to remind me to watch.  I guess I will see if it is on when the time comes.

I still am confused.  Does this mean that the MAC telecasts are not happening this year for certain?
The "live streaming" link is still on the MAC website so it seems like this might mean it is available???

FYI--The Central Ohio TWC channel for TWCSC is 311 and 1311HD.  Just finished watching the TWCSC MAC Basketball Preview.  Other than the Reghi lovefest with Akron it was a pretty bland show.  Like other similar productions their were times when the selected video didn't necessarily go with the audio at the time but it is what it is. (Their high school sports stuff is pretty good)

Here is the info from MAC

The one-hour special will preview the MAC conference schedule, with analysis and insight from Time Warner Cable SportsChannel's MAC broadcast team. Michael Reghi will host the program, with Tony White and Dave Cecuiti evaluating the men's schedule and Mike Cairns and Jacki Windon breaking down the women's schedule.
The MAC's Regional TV package, produced by Time Warner Cable SportsChannel, will televise 55 MAC men's and women's basketball games this season, with the first women's game this Saturday, January 4 at 12:00 p.m. ET as Toledo takes on Central Michigan and the first men's game on Wednesday, January 8 when Ohio plays Kent State at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The 2013-14 MAC Basketball Preview Show will air on the following cable outlets:
Ohio: Time Warner Cable SportsChannel: 1311 (HD) and 311. BCSN:  Check your local listings
Indiana: Comcast Indiana:  Channel 81
Michigan: Comcast:  Channel 900 -

You'll probably have to call around, but the first place I'd check is the Columbus Square Bowling Palace.  The last time I was there (more than a year ago) it seems to me their TVs weren't hooked to a satellite.  They also have a bar there, so you could watch without so much bowling noise.

Also, if you have TWC's high-end internet service you might be able to get ESPN3.  We got it during football season; I haven't checked during b-ball.

Fake, I'm really disappointed in you discouraging people from paying the price and making this trip to Kent, just because the weather isn't good and the game is on TW.

Use your remote, hit guide, go to  the channel game is on, this case in my area, 311 or 1311.  Go to the time of the game, 7 PM, hit day button to get the right day, and there it should be.   Not sure if you are serious or not.

I go to TWC.com and on that site there is a place to get listings by putting in zip code.

I know that Columbus area is 311 and 1311HD.

I am still betting on MAC streaming from MAC website like last year from the home team web site if all else fails.

Football games via TWC were blacked out on ESPN3 in Ohio if you weren't a TWC TV or internet user.
