Nice gritty win after falling down 15 and walking out with a win. Going to one of those bumpy ride seasons. Most games will be tight.

Solid character win.  Nick and Mo put the team on their shoulders after TJ (and Nick) kept them in it in the first half.  Free throws again a major factor.

With Ric possibly out for rest of season....TJ Hall is going to have to figure out his foul issues and stay on the floor.

Not just TJ. Treg is going to have to do the same thing.  To be fair, both showed improvement in that area.

Watched this game on the Big South feed, which was pretty good. Got the link off a comment on an Ohio Bobcat post. Great win, after a first half scare. The Bobcats are showing that if they can get it close in the final minutes, they have the grit to win. They are fun to watch this year, I just wish they would quit falling so far behind at points that they have to make a big run to get back in there, but again it sure is fun to watch them do it!

Per the ESPN box score, Ohio was 30-34 from the FT line. Best team shooting I can remember from the line in a while.

i thought Treg gave use some great minutes right after Rico went down.

5 guys finished with 3 assists.

I'm not afraid to say it... I love watching Nick Kellogg play basketball.

Oh and this NDour kid might turn out to be pretty decent.

I agree it was a great character win. I'm very proud of this team the way they came back after Ric's injury.

Agree completely. Nothing was going our way. Our guys showed some real toughness

On a totally unrelated note - what a great facility.  The sound system in there and scoreboards were pretty nice considering the size of the arena.  Compliments to their audio person too - good choice of music and their system is far superior to our old Bose system.  A truly fan friendly envioronment.  Great sight lines, lots of handicap seating, two very nice concession stands and a store with the school's merchandise.  Their version of the Rohr Room is out of this world.  I also really liked what they've done with their hall of fame.  Bigger isn't always better and we could take some lessons as we upgrade the Convo experience.

Great sight lines, you say??! OCF will be making a trek to Asheville in the near future, I'm sure...

Seriously, thanks for the report on the Kimmel Arena. How would you compare it to the new BGSU arena?

I would take Kimmel everyday of the week. First of all you don't have to go up a raft of steps to get to the concourse. Was really really impressed with Kimmel. Also impressed with the OHIO contigent. Was vocal and the team seemed to notice and appreciate the support.

Big props to the coaching staff.  For the second straight road game and third game overall the second half defense has been phenomenal.   Today UNCA was 6-27 after half.  Richmond and Longwood both scored under 20 in the second half.

I agree with Alan. It was a really nice facility. The OU crowd was a lot bigger than I had expected. I wish we played them more regularly. Asheville is a fantastic city for a road trip, especially when the Cats win.

Sight lines were not that good as the refs missed a ton of calls. The burrito promotions was fun. Heart goes out to Ric. He was in incredible pain. Gods speed young man.

That said I vote we play either in asheville or charleston sc every year!!

One thing to work on from yesterday is inbound passes.  There were two or three occasions when we were pretty nonchalant about tossing the ball in and it was nearly picked off under the bucket.  The guys have to be more aware of opposing players who are hanging back under the bucket.

Only if we play College of Charleston. The Citadel's arena is ok. Charleston Southern's is bad and tiny.

Here's a tweet from Treg Setty:

"It's really mind blowing when we have an away game and our fans are as loud as the home fans. BobcatNation is real"

Good job guys!!!

Great trip to Asheville yesterday with a character building win and clearly Coach knows how to make adjustments at halftime. Alan, it was great to meet you.

On a negative note, I was sitting 4 rows behind the team bench and both my wife and I noticed how disrespectful the team, 5 players in particular, were during the national anthem. One of them was actually talking during the playing and others had their head down and were swaying back and forth throughout it. Call me old fashion but as a retired Air Force vet I expect  a certain amount of respect for  the flag that represents this great nation of ours. I glanced at Coach C to see if he noticed and his head was down as well. I really don't believe it is asking too much for the proper respect to be shown for the flag for those few minutes prior to tip off.

While I do not disagree with you that is why many coaches take their kids back to the locker room for the anthem. By not even having them out there they avoid the comment s and observations. I find that practice TOTALLY disrespectful but it certainly avoids the scrutiny you have placed on these kids who have, in all probability never had any instruction in flag etiquette. Not like these guys are boy scouts, have had to say the pladge in school or had parents who made them stand still and respect the flag. Probably not many had dads who took time to teach or were in service / I know when I was in Switz, UK and Canada pregame my parents lessons in manners kicked in and I stood in respect. Keep in mind one of our players in not from this country. I am a bit disappointed that is a take away but after the 68 Olympics I came to understand that folks do not have the same behaviour I do with the flag. Oddly other countries seem to stand attentively and swell with pride when their flags are on display.

Jace Thompson and his IU /Kokomo kids understand as players are National Guard while playing and they honor the military as part of their season. Many of our Indiana HS are wearing uniforms respecting the military and our ROTC and National Guard units are present pregame helping the kids understand the sacrifice and service we thank you for on a regular basis here in the heartland.

I suspect even though Jace and his team were invited to hold the flag pre game for the COlts you may also have a problem with how the flag is treated prior to taking it on the feild

Many players, in sports at all levels, use the time for getting mentally ready for the game -- whether it's prayer, meditation or just a means for focusing.  I don't think it's out of disrespect; I think it's their way of keeping the edge they build up in the locker room.  I have more of a problem with fans who talk, joke around, dance, etc. during the anthem.

That's probably because in most countries anthems are generally only played during international sporting events when their national teams are playing other national teams. In the U.S., we play it whenever a PA system is available. I have many non-native friends and most of my family is not American, and they all find this ritual -- particularly its regularity -- a bit bizarre.

Just to take this thread even farther off the rails, here's an interesting history on America's practice of playing the song prior to sporting events:

I remember KVK was very excited when Ohio played his native national anthem on Senior Day. He said in an interview that isn't done there so it was exciting to have that done.

I don't consider standing with head bowed to be disrespectful at all.

Back in Athens after what  can only be described as a fantastic trip.  It was nice to meet you too Roger and several other Bobcatattackers and fans.  Someone else posted this but we need to make one or two of these weekend trips each year that are within 3 to 6 hours of Athens.  It gives loyal fans and alumns who don't live in Athens a chance to see the team as well as those of us who live right here a chance to visit other venues which really puts things into perspective as to what we truly have here and to borrow from others in terms of what they are doing right.

As far as the National Anthem goes, this is a very personal thing for many people.  Some stand and salute the flag, some stand with hand over heart, some stand and look at the flag while others look down with open and sometimes closed eyes.  These are all respectful responses to what should be a reflective time.  Hats on heads, joking around, talking and worst of all, vocalists who use this time to make a statement with their rendition of the song all bother me.  Like Roger, although I never was in the military, I am a traditionalist.  For those of our ilk, there ins't much tolerance for what we consider disrespectful behavior.

And speaking of respectful behavior, did anyone notice that the UNC Asheville team, coaches, staff and cheerleaders gathered at half court, faced their fans and sang their alma mater following the game.  Very cool and a good indication of a program that gets it.

In my road travels I have observed that there are a surprising number of schools that do this including Miami. No opinion on whether that means they get it.
