Same ole...same ole.
Long stretches of nothing.
Suspect PG play in crunch time.

We really missed Walt Offutt and Cooper in those last 18 seconds. No one wanted to take the big shot. Instead we settle for a forced three with the clock running down and missed. Taylor is just too timid with the game on the line.

Sad that after BG fouled that the OHIO players couldn't have set up a scoring play off the inbounds.  Wilkins only locked in on Taylor flipping it in over the half court.  He could have faked it to Taylor and whipped it to Hall coming out from the block and Nick having picked out front could have rollled towards the foul line looking for a Hall pass or TJ could have done a little one on one action but the need for a quick shot was there instead of going for a last second shot.  They were only two down and a quick missed shot might have resulted in a stick back.

That thing got written out on a wipeboard and everything. Holy crap.

Team will only be as good as its point guard play. Below average at best. Too many lost handles...not enough drives and dish opportunities. Still trying to figure out how Bean played in the Big 12.

You turn the ball over 18 times you will lose... Its that simple. In every game we lost (except UMASS - 8 TO's) we turned the ball over  +13 or more times.

How many years does OHIO basketball have to go back to the last time the Bobcats lost more than 2 MAC games at the Convo?  Toledo, Kent, Buffalo and Fiami--can the Cats  keep it to two MAC Convo losses for the season?

Terrible night at the Convo. Way too many turnovers to even come close to winning a game.

Jim Christian's first non-Akron MAC loss at Ohio. It had to happen sooner or later.

My pick for BG's MVP is Louis Orr. He handed JC his jock tonight.

I think we'll be seeing extended zones a lot from here on out.

How many points in the paint did they get? (went back and checked it- they beat us 32-18!)

We have no hands. Do we ever get loose balls?

if you're holding for 1 shot (all year, not just tonight)., don't  jerk around at half court  and then start to create when there's only seconds left on the clock.

Lot of turnovers and  few scorers is not a healthy combo.

We deserve to lose this one.

Tonight was a tough loss on so many levels. I feel like our team got exposed tonight with that zone Orr threw at us. I'm really surprised Maurice couldn't do more inside of it.

Setty and Willis don't give us anything. Without Johnson, we're down to a roster of just six capable players -- Taylor, Ndour, Kellogg, Wilkins, Hall and Smith -- and we might be glad it's even six because Travis has really stepped it up to become a solid player.

I really love Stevie's hustle and enthusiasm, but it's hard to see us being a MAC contender without a stronger point guard. It's a lot easier now to look back and say DJ was the principal reason we got to two NCAAs and an NIT.

Can't speak for the rest of you, but I think my expectations had been too high. I'm glad we had some good wins in non-conference, but this is starting to look like a 19-15 kind of season. Schedule in February gets pretty rugged.

Really bad loss...Not what I expect from this team.  They had a good defensive game plan on us...JC is going to have to tweak some things.  We have a great guard, a great forward, and a great defensive specialist.  Our depth is lacking some beyond that, but we should be able work around that core and not lose to the likes of BG at home.

I had to go somewhere at 7:15 tonight requiring me to turn off the game. We were up double digits at that point. I take full responsibility for this loss.

Were you hosting a fundraiser so we can expand Peden to 50,000?

Actually, I was at an Ohio State fundraiser to gather funds to purchase the "Ohio" name from Ohio University.

Congrats on your big win tonight. Unfortunately, this does not move Ohio any closer to your goal of dropping to a meaningless division of collegiate athletics.

The last play shouldve gone to Maurice in the paint. The officials screwed up twice on the other end of the floor and I just felt like #5 would've had an open look or a foul call. The Cats were down two, so the three was not necessary. In the postgame show on the radio, JC said BG just defended the play well.

Really, it should've never been that close. Interior passing was awful between the bigs, and the guards played like horse crap. To beat a 2-3 zone, you have to shoot well outside and penetrate the gaps. OU did neither. The press break was slow and inefficient. This was a night of really poor execution on both ends of the floor by the players.

Interesting take. I thought BG defended pretty well and we did not lay many good screens. I refuse to lament the absence of players that are not on the squad ....just me.

Not sure how you throw ST into the  timid category when he has been right in there with the game on the line more than a few times. Got a couple of game winners and more than his fair share of timely back breakers and crunch time 3's.

Lots of reoccurring themes tonight were witnessed:

*With so few scoring opions, not sure we can win with Maurice taking only 11 shots. Honestly didn't watch much off the ball tonight to see if he was getting touches/looks, but he's just got to take more shots and score more.
*Outside of Wilkins, 2 total points from a non-existent bench
*Similar to the first two points, just not enough scorers and guys that can create shots
*Total indecision and lack of a go-to-guy for the last shot.  Yet another ala DJ Cooper fiddle with the ball until the clock gets down to desperation time and a desperation/low percentage shot.

The one thing I did focus on tonight was our guarding of the oppositions point guard.  Our point guard does all the right things---squats way down as in lock down defensive position, gives the tough facial expression look and gets beat off the dribble time and time again.  Rarely stops penetration, rarely fights through a ball screen--just very poor defense.

That was an all around frustrating evening of Ohio hoops.

We also missed Trent, Stonerook, Luckett and Jamerson, your point is?

kind of have to point the fingers at the pg's again. Once they started pressing our 16-4 lead vanished quickly. because of there press we were never really able to run at them like we like either. they did a great job of defending in transition. Once our transition play is defused anyone can beat us in the half court game. Outside of that I don't know where to look at for how we lost. We started fine. Our D played fine. Our bigs didn't do much but to be fair we didn't created many good chanced for them. We always struggle with BG that's my only positive of the night. Hoping this was a fluke.

My thoughts exactly.  We had nearly 11 seconds to work with and that's what we get?  An off balance 3 point attempt at the buzzer?  I was screaming "go, go, go!" when they started that possession with what looked to me like a serious lack of urgency.  I would like to think you at least go aggressive and fast enough to give yourself a chance at an offensive rebound, but yikes.  That can't be what was drawn up.

I have a terrible Bobcat Basketball hangover this morning.  I remember being at the game, I remember being excited about going to the game, I remember being overly enthusiastic for a time, I remember periods of just staring at the floor wondering where I was, I remember standing at the urinal muttering something to the guy next to me, then the next think I knew I was at home trying to explain to my wife what I saw and I couldn't describe it.  This morning I get a terrible queasy feeling every time I think about last night but I still cannot quite remember everything.

I love green kool-aid and it feels like I might have been over served.

I swear I will never do that again

Seriously, what a bad game for what, I still think, is a pretty good team.
