Quite the gauntlet we have to run in the MAC with regards to defensive teams.... Hoping we get our ducks in a row offensively so that we will be ready not only for BG, but for Buffalo and Eastern Michigan.
I think it was JSF that posted on another site something to the effect that, any team with a good scouting report will be able to figure out our O pretty quickly. Which made me think about football and the power plays where they have a bread and butter play they run until someone stops it... I think there can be some similarities between basketball with offensive plays or sets where, a defensive team essentially knows what the other team is going to do, but isn't able to stop it due to excellent execution, individual talents of the players, deficiencies on the defensive side of the ball, etc....
The best example I can come up with is the Stockton/Malone pick and roll. Granted, they were special players but, it does show that it can be done... Obviously, it can be a mixture of both basic plays executed very well and new wrinkles that aim to surprise.... Thoughts?
Regardless of how we roll, beat BG!!!
