Well we've definitely been a last 10 minutes team lately. Hopefully we can keep it close and close it out in the end.  Would love to see Wilkins get more looks from 3, it looks like he's feeling it. Would be nice to see Ndour get going on offense. Would love to see more of Stevie taking it down the middle or Kellogg going to the rim

...... I'd like to see the Bobcats win out and win a National Championship?...

I think we've discovered something. Make Bean a 2 guard.  It seems to make him much more effective. Hopefully Crute or Wingfield can play behind Stevie next year and Bean can contribute as a 2

Offense has put up 27 in less than 10 minutes coming out of the half.  Smith's putback dunk was badass.

In other news, Western just tied Akron.

Stevie is down.

We've regressed the last few minutes.  Toledo took advantage after the timeout and we have not.

Well, had a couple bad breaks now. That almost Bean steal would have lead to a bucket, smith getting caught up communicating with coach and missing that pass, and now Stevie. I hope it's not too bad, and again, it probably cost us a bucket there because Bean was clearly wondering what happened to him and ended up double teamed at the rim

Not a bad loss. We were without Ricardo, TJ, and Stevie when it mattered most. Bean played well, but he was playing a lot throughout the end. Didn't go down easy. We'll come out and notch a W next time

Not a bad effort for Ohio. We gave it a battle and didn't have a big nite from Ndour.  We found something with Wilkins. They opens things up a bit for us.  Just had bad luck with Ndour in foul trouble.

Offense totally shut down with Bean running the point the last 6 minutes. If Stevie's in there, I'm convinced it's a W.

Hopes of a bye are fading by the day...need this one at Buffalo Saturday or else this season is getting bleak.

We'll get a bye. Just a matter of which one. Good effort tonight and I hope we get a third game with them.

We can beat Buffalo. Let's get it done.

Man stop hating on Bean. He played well and the offense did not shut down with him in there, or at least not because of him. He was forced to play the entire end of the game without rest on a night where he was supposed to be playing a lot of 2 guard, Stevie went out, Ndour was not on and fouled out, and in the end we were desperate and that's a completely different style of play, even though he played a big part in forcing Juice to travel towards the end and keep us alive. He hit his free throws when he got them, He hit some threes. Drew some fouls, and forced some turnovers. I don't know why people love to hate on Bean and Treg when it's obvious that they both are thrilled to be playing for the Bobcats.  Stop hating on them and start supporting them. I hate how much people sound like idiot state fans when they do that kind of thing

pretty sure what is posted on a message board has zero impact on hating or supporting players

it doesnt make you a bad fan to have a negative opinion about a player

bean isnt that great of a PG and clearly the best option is for him to be a 2 guard. no one is hating, just pointing out an observation

I can't get too mad at the performance. We really needed to hit the defensive glass harder, but otherwise, we were down five guys from our Game 1 roster if you include Ricardo towards the end, and we were still had a shot.

This Buffalo game is mondo important for us to keep our heads above water. I actually would have liked Akron to beat WMU tonight so the Broncos could feel the pressure with us. Now we are on the outside of a bye looking in.

It's hating on them when people go on about it no matter how they play, then go on about the +/- when they're in the game. It's supposed to look like that when the starters aren't playing. I just hate seeing all the negativity aimed towards those two in particular

pretty obvious what went wrong tonight- we let Toledo have a single digit lead in the 2nd half. That's not how we roll, double digit deficits are OUr thang.

A world-class art museum, zoo and orchestra.

You know what "world class" means, right?

I believe the definition is: a word someone trying to create comedic contrasts between the set-up and punch line of a Carty Finkbeiner joke uses.

Well - late in the thread to reply on this but I am compelled. As far as Art Museum, Zoo, and Orchestra - Toledo probably has the highest quality of the 3 combined per capita than any city in the country.

Treg is the greatest player to ever play for the Bobcats, can't wait until he's in the NBA. Is that the BS you want?

Got to beat Buffalo Saturday and Western next week to have a shot at the double bye.  I'd say the triple bye is pretty much out the window now.  The MAC office isn't too fond of these scenarios since the Bobcats bring the most fans to the tournament.

No, but respect them and give them some credit because they both bring some good things to the team. I'm assuming most of the people on this message board are alumni or current students like I am, so support the players from your team. Man, these guys give up a lot of things up in the college experience to play for the Cats. I know they get scholarships but come on. I don't want to seem like I'm ranting, I just wish people would be a little more positive when talking about their own team. We're all Bobcats, we don't need to be putting each other down.

was at the game tonight and not impressed by the arena, or the fan base at Toledo.

This was my first trip to Toledo.  So much to appreciate about our fans/arena/band.

Only 5,000 at a game for 1st place in the MAC?  The crowd wasn't very loud or into the game much until the final minute.  Their student section had some weak cheers that we could barely hear in the 2nd level.

Don't get me started on their band...A DRUM SET???  Most timeouts there was piped in music playing rather than the band?  The 110 spoils us with how good they are and the excitement they bring.

I love my parents, brothers, sister, cousins, aunts and uncles, etc. And I tell them what I think when I think they are screwing up - so does the rest of the family. We also typically also try to give some advice on how to improve - like maybe what we think they should or maybe should not do.

Per your logic there is something dysfunctional about that.

First of all, I'm not into morale victories, but kudos to the guys for hanging in and for at least a moment making it appear as though we may steal one.  That was the definition of a "make-shift lineup" down the stretch and tons of strange combinations due to all the circumstances presenting themselves.

For me, I can almost look at one stat line from any box score and against a high quality opponent like Toledo, tell you how the game went.  I'm certain the other teams defensive strategy had a lot to do with this, but the key stat line for me was Maurice 7 total shots in 31 minutes.  I've beat this drum to death, but I don't think were beating many good teams consistently with him getting 7 shots--which by the way was the fewest shots attempted by any players other than Setty and Campbell who only played 14 combined minutes.  So basically, of the 6 man rotation that played most the game, nobody shot less than he did.  That's a problem.   Maybe the defense took him away and there was nothing we could do about it, maybe their strategy to keep him from scoring the second time around outmatched our strategy to find new ways to get him the ball seeing as though we just played them and the game was fresh on everyone's minds.   Whatever the case, they outwitted us in this regard.   I've heard it said about great players, "they're going to get their's, we just want to stop everyone else," but there are simply too many times when Maurice just doesn't get his.  I've seen a trend and that is, when Maurice shoots 9 or fewer times, we don't do as well.  I continue to be a huge Maurice fan, as is most everyone else, and continue to live/die with him being a priority.

First, I'm a very big N'dour fan, but there is one aspect of his game that has worried me in the past, and it seems I noticed it several times tonight.  Tell me if I'm wrong, but he seems to have "soft hands" on some rebounds.  What I mean by that is many times I see him come down with a rebound and then get it knocked away by opponent.  This happens to all players at one time or another, but it seems to happen more frequently to N'dour.  Perhaps, it's just a matter of the number of times he is in good position for a rebound so it's just a matter of average, but for some reason it seems that this is more a problem for N'dour than some others.  Of course, he usually gets a great number of rebounds and some of these are power rebounds, but does anyone else see this "soft hands" side of him?  Again, I love N'dour.  He's one of my favorite OHIO basketball players of all time, so please don't take this out of context.
