That safety remains the most unacceptably bad call I have seen while watching Ohio athletics.

I'd vote for it as the most unacceptably bad call watching ANY athletics. Many national pundits said as much.

Hands down I've never seen a call that bad in any sport ever before.

Just now watching a replay of yesterday's Ball State-Toledo game. Reghi and Tony White just said Buffalo is the most physical team in the MAC and that they beat up the opposition.

But we can assume your calling us "inbreds" is representative?

Has there been any update on Stevie Taylor?  Can we expect him to provide the same kind of minutes (8-10 or so) essentially the rest of the way out?  We haven't won back-to-back games since the end of Jan/beginning of Feb, so we're due to snap that streak.  I'd have to think the sting of the Western loss at home is still fresh in their minds, too.  Hopefully the guys come out focused and play hard for 40 minutes.  I think if we dig that 12-15 point hole against Buffalo, it will be hard to climb out of it.  Contain McCrea as best you can and force a lot of jump shots from the perimeter and I like our chances.

Against 'kron in the few minutes that he played, Stevie did not look springybouncy active the way he is when fully healthy.

Speaking of springybouncy, who's in charge of the live video feed? I hope things don't go buffer crazy during this pivotal game...

Buffalo does not like the #5 Ohio jersey, that's for sure.

This may be an oversimplification, but it seems that defending Buffalo boils down to this:  You have to double team McCrae.  He passes well out of double teams.  They will get some open threes because of this.  Will they be hot from three or not?  Also, he does some good interior passing out of double teams.  What will the results be?  Puts a LOT of pressure on a defense to switch, rotate and close out.  How well we do this will determine whether we win tonight.

Having said that, I hope we don't get back into the mode of falling behind by double digits and then spending the rest of the game trying to catch up.  Ideally, I'd like to see Ohio have a home breakout game and win comfortably. Most likely, though, it will be a tense grinder.

Looking at the team stats, the two teams are very similar.

I'm for having Smith and Campbell rotate on him 1-on-1 all night -- maybe conceding that he'll get 18-20 pts -- and working to shut everybody else down.  That's about what happened last time.  He got his 18 but Freelove and Regan were a bit under their season averages (although Evans had a big night).  And they only hit 25% from three.  That's the kind of game we'll need tonight.

Buffalo had a rough time finding open shots and hitting them against our zone in the first meeting. When we go zone, look for them to get the ball to McCrea in the high post and have him rumble down the lane to the basket.

Obviously a very poor attempt at humor overall, but what really confused me was comment that "we laugh at the New York rebranding."

From what I have seen, most on this board have been positive about the rebranding effort. Sure, one or two Ohio fans have been against it but overall I think Ohio fans have been MORE supportive of the effort than your average MAC fan. I think a lot of good could come from Ohio playing New York as opposed to Athens playing Buffalo.

UBfan.com used to be quite lively.  Any more, it's quite sad, but the 5 or 6 fans they do have over there really hate us, and that brings me great joy.

I respect Bull Run. They're dedicated and they keep the site fresh. But the writing is just not good and never has been.

although UB fans are not nearly as eloquent or as acerbic with their wit as some would like I do appreciate the effort. Anytime MAC fans get invested in the outcome of MAC games its a good thing. and with that spirit I say- suck it Bulls, go Bobcats!

My favorite thing about that post is that they don't know who Christian is even though he was coach at Kent for six years.

We would have won this game with Stevie. Its a shame he got hurt, I think we had a chance to win the MAC tournament with him. Without him100%  we have no chance.

And Christian misfired on the back-up plan with BEAN. Can't win games when your point guard can't drive and dish.
