Will there be video Saturday or have they taken the equipment out for the school year?

Have to go to the CIT website to see our feed.

I tried last night but it wouldn't load in. After their commercial it kept loading but nothing happened.
Did you register/sign in first? It did the same for me at first, but once I registered it was fine.

The comments on the Wright State board highlight why teams should care about the actions of other programs in their conference. Like it or not, people associate you with the company you keep. We play in a conference that is literally known for fan apathy towards their sports programs. When a major national sports publication tweets out a story about an EMU player being "embarrassed" by his own school's fan support, it reflects poorly on the entire Mid-American Conference.

Maybe when Ohio starts to dominate the conference in something other than attendance we can adopt a credible holier than thou attitude towards the rest of the conference. As long as football's around the MAC is our home. Trashing other members of the conference -- perennial whipping boy EMU or otherwise -- doesn't change anything. It only makes a segment of our fan base look deluded and arrogant. We were a FIVE seed in this conference this year, and shared our first hoops championship in forever last year, yet somehow we're too good for the MAC?

With that said, Ypsilanti Community College's actions that continue to wreck collateral damage on the MAC do not excuse the Wright State fanbase for their lack of knowledge about Ohio. It isn't like we haven't beat these guys more than once within fairly recent times. I remember a couple years back (bracketbuster?) when they came to the Convo their board was talking smack acting like they would bring a huge student crowd to Athens and outnumber the O Zone. I guess they assumed bringing 10 fans was good enough to win the fan battle in Oxford so that somehow transfers to Athens? Not sure how sound the logic is there, but that is to be expected as Wright State is certainly no Ohio academically.
I think the comments on the Wright State board speak less about MAC attendance problems, and more about delusion.

2013 Division 1 Men's Basketball Attendance by Conference: (Average per game)
14. Mid-American Conference - 2,982
16. Horizon League - 2,725

2013 Division 1 Men's Basketball Conference Tournament Attendance: (Average per session)
Mid-American Conference - 4,609
Horizon League - 2,344

2013 Division 1 Men's Basketball Attendance: (Average per game)
Ohio - 6,932
Wright State - 3,786

If you read the rest of the comments on their board it looks like it is only a couple guys' opinions.  Others on their board set the record straight.

Good post, Van...it's not good when we attribute the remarks of a couple of message board posters to an entire "fan base."  I don't like it when others do that to Ohio, and we shouldn't be doing that to others.

So I've been on BA for long enough that I SHOULD know this, but I have to ask it anyway: what (if any) columbus area radio stations (over the air) carry the OHIO Basketball broadcasts?

http://www.ohiobobcats.com/multimedia/ohio-radio-network....

The TuneIn Radio app works well anywhere you have an internet connection too.

Perfect! Thanks Recovering Journalist.
I'm moving to Columbus on Saturday, so I won't have any internet yet (well, its supposed to get hooked up sometime on Saturday)

Try 1230 a.m. But I'm not sure if they have another obligation that over-rides Ohio post-season game coverage. They did have the Cleveland St. game on Wednesday night.

Depending on what part of Columbus you might also get WOUH, 91.9 out of Chillicothe.  They sort of faded in and out in Licking County a few weeks ago when 1230 had something else going on.  You might have to fiddle with the antenna or stand on the coffee table.

  • Wright State has won 7 of its last 8 games.
  • People wondering why Wright State isn't traveling to VMI or vice versa as originally thought, when we were supposed to face IPFW.  I saw where Wright State played at VMI during non conference season and lost 94-74.  Maybe the schools didn't want a rematch at this time??
  • Wright State averaged 4117 in attendance.  Definitely respectable.  They drew 7784 for Horizon title game at home that they lost to Milwaukee, 69-63.
  • The Raiders won 2 out of their 3 games vs. Cleveland State.
  • They are a good 3 pt shooting team.  They have three players, Arceneaux, Vest and Hopkins who are exceptionally good 3 pt. shooters.
  • They are a good shooting team at 46%, but they hang their hat on very tough defense.
  • They force their opponents into a huge number of turnovers.  Their defensive assist to turnover ratio is outstanding.
  • They are a very good FT shooting team.
  • Statistically, their only weak point is rebounding.
  • Only one player, 6-10, 245 lb center Pacher, averages in double figures with almost 12 ppg.
  • They have good size overall.  Pacher might present a matchup problem, but hopefully Campbell and Mompremier will step up and handle it.
  • They are 7 deep but they have other guys who play from time to time.
  • One key to the game will be how the game is officiated.  I hope the refs call it closer than they did vs. Cleveland State in the first half.  They are very aggressive and will try to impose their will physically.
  • Hope we draw closer to 4000 than we did vs. CSU.

Bingo.

I haven't said anything about OHIO being "too good for the MAC." What I have said over and over again is that EMU is not good enough for the MAC. They are not a good fit for this conference. They do not bring value to the conference. In fact, when they create PR nightmares like the one this week I would argue they are actually destroying value of the schools they are associated with in this conference.

It is obvious that MAC leadership is too soft to act in the conference's best interest and intervene when a member institution is dragging down the entire conference. That is unfortunate, because this conference has a ton of potential.
I am not surprised EMU wants to play with a group of schools with resources well beyond their own. It is a huge benefit for their school. If Ohio could get a group of schools to prop up our own standing I would sign up in a heartbeat. What surprises me is that anyone in the EMU administration thought it would be a good idea to host a CIT game. I am not someone who is completely against the CIT... I see some merits to this tournament. However, everyone and their brother knows CIT games do not draw well. EMU doesn't draw well to began with.. Bad+bad=recipe for "embarrassment."
Embarrassment for the entire conference. This could have been avoided. Booting EMU removes a major risk for the Mid-American Conference and ensures the conference's value is not negatively impacted by an inferior institution.

Maybe the Key to the game. Cannot have too many lazy, predictable passes. And Go Get The Ball, don't stand their and wait for it...............

Tune-In Radio works well with 3G/4G for me  (most of the time).  Power 105.5 out of Athens.

2012-13 Reese (Men) Trophy Final Standings

For the Reese and Jacoby Trophies, points are awarded based on each school’s finish, with the overall total divided by the number of sports sponsored by each school.  An institution may count either indoor track and field or outdoor track and field, but not both.

Really?? Citing all-sport trophies?

We're one of 6 schools to go to 5 straight football and men's basketball postseasons. That's all you need to know.

I'm all for Olympic sports (and probably attend more than most on this board)...but no one is paying attention to track, soccer, swimming, etc. from a national exposure standpoint.

We've been smart to make investments in those sports where ROI is greatest.

My favorite sport isn't Football or Men's basketball but I'm not going to sit here and argue that those two sports are not the most valuable to Ohio University or the Mid-American Conference.

EMU being good in Swimming and Diving or Cricket or Women's Rowing or Men's Rowing or whatever it is that boosts them up in the "all sport" rankings" means very little when discussing their value to a conference spending tens of millions competing in D-1 collegiate athletics.

If all we care about is "all sport" rankings, we may as well drop to D-3. I don't understand what exactly some think the goal is... Cool! We won an "All Sports Trophy in the MAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Spending millions in D-1 Athletics was worth it now!!!

You can either acknowledge that spending millions promoting our athletics program is a good investment and commit to being a D-1 program OR you and argue that each sport matters the same and we should try to be equally good in all-sports. The middle ground that is the MAC today is an embarrassment to general fees everywhere.

I believe that it was Derrick Coleman who once said "Whoopdy damn doo". Who cares about womens soccer and the mens swimming teams? EMU is a complete embarassment in football and basketball and should be removed from the MAC asap
