Didn't he airball a floater in the lane right before taking that charge?

I couldn't tell from the video feed if it was partially blocked and they switched to under the basket camera as he was driving.  Looked like a ball fake, drive the lane and airballed the one handed floater.  I thought taking the charge was a great redemption play.

It wasn't right before it. I'm pretty sure it was with about 8 minutes left.  It looked like Tommy was trying to get a call but the refs weren't calling much in the lane.

For what's it's worth, 5 of the higher RPI teams have lost so far in the 8 games that have been played. Seeding the teams just by RPI the #1, #5, #6, #7 and #10 teams have been eliminated.  Either the #2 or the #3 seed will be eliminated tonight when Iona and Valpo play. The seeds would have been:

Seed Team RPI Status
1 Marshall 54 Eliminated
2 Iona 68 TBD
3 Valpo 71 TBD
4 East Tenn St 91 Won
5 East Carolina 96 Eliminated
6 Portland 103 Eliminated

9 Northern Iowa 112 Won
10 Furman 116 Eliminated
11 San Francisco 120 TBD

Watched/listened to last part of SMU/ORU game that SMU won in OT.  Point of story is that SMU's site already has posted that they will be hosting Jacksonville on Saturday, March 19.  Wish our Athletic Department was that quick in posting who/where our next opponent will be.

They can't post it because they nor anyone else know who the opponent will be.

Small detail that was posted after the Marshall game on the CIT website: Ohio gets a bye. Absolutely no way to know who we will host. The game will be Monday or Tuesday, and I would have to assume at home given the fact we got a bye (if we are willing to pay?)

If you go to the official website for SMU (smumustangs.com) you will not only find that the SMU/ORU game finished around an hour ago, but you will also find that they are actively advertising that they will play Jacksonville this Saturday.  I realize that it may be late, but I did listen to the game and this is not a figment of my imagination.

I understand what you're saying, but this criticism of our SID is off the mark.

The CIT didn't announce until early today what was going on.  We didn't know.  The other teams didn't know.  I am pretty sure the CIT itself didn't know.  They came out today and made it known what would happen.  It still hasn't been announced what teams we might possibly play in the quarters.

Blame the CIT for this, not our people.  They made it known we had a bye as soon as they knew.

SECOND ROUND (March 18-19)

FRIDAY
Air Force (16-15) @ Santa Clara (20-14)

SATURDAY
Jacksonville (20-11) @ SMU (18-14)
Buffalo (19-13) @ Western Michigan (21-12)
San Francisco (18-14) @ Hawaii (19-12)

QUARTERFINALS (March 21-22)

East Tennessee State (23-11) vs. TBD
Northern Iowa (20-13) vs. TBD
Ohio (19-15) vs. TBD
Iona (23-11) vs. TBD

Really hard to tell who we will get next. I think East Tennessee State will get the Jacksonville-SMU winner. Maybe Iona gets Buffalo if they beat WMU. If WMU wins I could see them playing UNI (I doubt they would schedule two straight conference games for WMU or two regular season rematches for us). The rest of the teams are going to have a long trip no matter where they go. I think we will most likely get one of the teams from out west and probably not play until Tuesday as a result.

Is it possible that two of the teams that received byes could play each other in the quarters?   The reason I'm asking is that if Santa Clara wins it would make sense that they play the winner of San Francisco/Hawaii.   If Buffalo wins they would play Iona and we would play Northern Iowa. If Western wins we would play Iona and the Broncos get Northern Iowa.

It's a shame Buffalo and WMU were paired against eachother...ruins my dreams of 3 of the 4 semifinal teams being MAC teams.

So we still don't know for sure that our quarterfinal game will be a home game?

I didn't think of that. It would make a lot of sense to do it like that, but I don't know if they would. That would really cut down on the travel expenses that the home team has to pay. I'd hate to see our bill if Hawaii comes to the Convo.

I would predict the Jacksonville/SMU winner going to ETSU. We'll probably get stuck playing the WMU/Buffalo winner.

I was thinking Hawaii may go to Northern Iowa.  ETSU vs JU/SMU winner.  Buffalo vs Iona.  Ohio vs Santa Clara / Air Force winner.

We shall see.

Odd, from a business standpoint, that we receive a bye (no cost game) and then are not "required" to host a game (money game).  Perhaps if we win in the quarters.
