Going to overtime after a questionable foul call with 1.2 seconds left against FGCU. Didn't think it was a foul in live action but no real clear replay one way or the other IMO.

I hope they play 10 overtimes. Tire them out!

Impressed by the crowd. Granted, it is OT of a good game, but it seems like a decent # and they are into the game.

You can tell FGCU has some high major transfers. Their bigs are more athletic than Appy's bigs were.

I maintain we should win this game, but we gotta come to play.

crowd looks big in part because the arena is small, capacity is 4,633.

Ha!

Unfortunately just one. UCSB isn't a great team but they've got a couple of really good forwards. Their big man, Alan Williams, is what Javon McCrea should have been. Their guards aren't worth a damn however so they miss countless opportunities to get the ball into him. Put Williams on the same team as Brett Comer and both are getting All-American talk.

Comer worries me. His basketball IQ appeared to be through the roof. He knew who was in foul trouble and when and took the ball right at them. He got in foul trouble midway through the second half and sat for 4 minutes. FGCU scored 2 points while he was out. They don't really have anybody that scares me offensively other than Comer. Thompson reminds me of several Marshall players the last few years. He can score but he forces it a lot from what I saw. But as I said in an earlier post they have some athletes and hustle for loose balls and rebounds.

The Eagles are beatable but it's not going to be easy especially on the road. We will have to play well.

I am not expecting a win. I am hopeful but this is one of the games I said we'd lose. It's on the road a million miles from home against a team that I saw was chosen by SI to represent the Atlantic Sun in the NCAA Tourney. It's going to be a great guard battle. I think it comes down to Wadley, Tony and Mo stepping up. If Mo wants NBA looks this is his game. He has to step up for us to win. He has to be an All-American. It hurts not having Treg. He is a sparkplug.

He's serving this game for the same reason that Bean served last game.

Looking at FGCU schedule, they are playing UCSB again during their pre-conference schedule.

I'm not sure I have ever seen a team play a home-and-home with an out-of-conference opponent in the same season...

We did with Marshall in 06-07. Series split, with both teams winning their home games. The game in Athens went to overtime. And I believe we blew a big lead at their place.

ND v. UCLA used to always play home-and-home with Dick Enberg calling play-by-play on NBC. Also, ND v. the Dons of USF.

That reason is they played in an unsanctioned tournament over the summer.

you would be surprised how easy it is to find a tourney in the park. Starts out innocent and the competitive juices flow then someone instagrams, tweets or facebooks something and the NCAA gets involved. I have had to remind several local players from IUPUI, Indiana, IPFW, SLU, OHIo, Butler and other that the park tourney that looks like Rucker park was probably not sanctioned. Anyone know where they played?

I hate how basketball players can be suspended for playing basketball.

Doc, they played at the "Dirt Bowl" in Louisville. It's always been known for great basketball.

Wish this game was in late December when I'll be down in Naples. We were down there in March 2013 and went and checked out the campus. Very nice. Pretty new. They have dorms right on the beach (of a lake.) The arena was smaller, but pretty plush. Seems like more of a commuter school though.

Interesting alum of note: Chris Sale

Why is there no line on this game? Maybe the bookies are waiting on Chandler Thomas' graduation confirmation before setting the spread, lol.

Kimble/Gathers?
Great combo, but Hank Gathers was no guard (SF/PF)
did not matter in that offense everyone handled the ball and everyone could score

body and poaition was frontcourt but he could put the ball on the deck and get to the rack

Have to love a color guy making stuff up as he goes.

"Looking at the scouting report you have to make Mompremier go to his left."
