This is not Dunk City. Their 15 minutes are up, so if we're legit, we should win. But it is the first road game of the year, so who knows?

Agree with JSF here. This is a team built around a fair amount of high-major transfers who didn't do much at their previous schools. I think FGCU has played it OK since their moment in the spotlight, going after high-profile recruits that they weren't looking at prior to the national spotlight. While they are having some success recruiting, they aren't there yet. Major chemistry issues on this FGCU team.

They have more talent than Appy, but we should absolutely beat these guys.

I watched the 1st half of their game vs a DII team and either that DII was really good or Dunk City is on track to be Flunk City. In the pre-tip setup one of the announcers, a former coach and player named J Webb Horton, said that this is the deepest team in FGCU in history. (FGCU's history goes back to 2002-2003,btw.) He also said that their senior guards, Comer and Thompson, were "two of the best guards to maybe ever play in the history of mid-major basketball". And when he said it he called Thompson 'Thomas'.

I think it will be a good test for us.

He'd do well at Hustle Belt.

OUr Bobcats have to travel down there, but FGCU won't be fresh. They play UC Santa Barbara Monday night. UC Santa Barbara lost to #5 pre-season Kansas at Kansas on Friday by less than a dozen, and will no doubt give FGCU a good workout. It will be interesting to see how well N'Dour does against their bigs, since their postgame hype is all about their "dunk city" theme, even to the point of fawning over a single putback featured in a YouTube video.

I'm just happy I have something to listen to on the drive to Dallas. I-45 is not exciting in the least.

I'm kind of bummed to miss this game. We are going to Naples this month, but chose to go the week of Thanksgiving instead. I think the Cats will be the more talented team. I hope they have a successful road trip.

They are no Delonte West/Jameer Nelson.

First road game for this team that features freshmen getting prominent minutes.
I'm taking a more hesitant approach.
Don't believe this game is going to be as easy as some people think.

Or Edgar Padilla/Carmelo Travieso.

Early road test, a win would be big. I expect a pretty tough game. FGCU I believe is picked to win their conference this year. If the game was at home I'd feel pretty confident, down there, I think we'll have our hands full.

Cooper/Bassett
Cooper/Offutt
Taylor/Kellogg
Taylor/Willis

I'll take any of these guard combos over Comer/Thompson, but I might be a little biased.

This is my approach as well. I'm sure their fans are salivating after seeing that we only beat a d3 team by 12. Hard to say we know much about either team right now and they have the advantage of being at home.

The pairings that include Cooper I agree with. Stevie, as much as I like him, hasn't proven himself consistently quite yet.

Comer is a gutsy player that you kind of have to like. I don't know a lot about Thompson.

I'll add one more-

Simmons/Laster

point is, I'd take any of our guys in recent memory over theirs.

I like Comer. All heart with some skillz.

Will be nice to figure out how to watch and get Tommy on the puter to celebrate his Birthday together. hard to do across the pond but we can share a Bobcat game.

Since their Sweet Sixteen run was the same as ours, does that mean our 15 minutes are up as well?

I think that's being generous, when we lost 5/7 in Dec., including a home loss to Winthrop, it was over.

I'm watching the FGCU - UC Santa Barbara game right now and every time their pbp guy is on camera all I can think about is Frank Caliendo.

Comer can play. Love his game. Not that impressed by Thompson. But FGCU has some athletes.
