I said this was a showcase type of game for Maurice. So far he is laying a HUUUUGGEEE egg. I cannot believe he would be considered an NBA prospect. He really doesn't handle the ball well and if he's not more athletic than the team he is playing (Valpo, even OSU last year) he isn't amazing. He's a good MAC player but right now I'd draft Bernard Thompson over Ndour.

most embarrassing half since the Kansas or Pitt games. except FGCU isn't Kansas or Pitt... they're an equal or lesser mid-major program. really disappointing so far

First road game for this team that features freshmen getting prominent minutes.
I'm taking a more hesitant approach.
Don't believe this game is going to be as easy as some people think.
Had a bad feeling about this. Will have difficulty winning consistently if Stevie doesn't play under control and manages the game effectively. Too much driving and guessing in the lane. Would like to think he'd have a better handle now that he's a senior.

Not sure who is wearing #5 through two games, but I have to believe NDOUR will get back to his normal self soon. The freshmen played like you would expect them to in their first road game.

Disappointed with transition defense and quick shots on offense. Not pushing the panic button. Team just wasn't ready for this type of environment and looked 2 steps slower than Dunk City. Forget it and move on.

Why in God's Name is Antonio Campbell out there chucking up 3's? 0-3 from 3 point land in the first half. Maybe you should get under the hoop big fella! You're not a guard. Embarrassing 1st half all the way around.

Well, that was almost as bad of a half as I've seen in a while. Way too many threes being jacked up and not enough slashing.

WOW, just got home and did a TRIPLE take. I expected the score to be the other way around. Not good.

Slow ball movement and no player movement makes for a bad offense. Wadley was the only guy that looked like he came to play.

If we keep doing our FGCU doesn't get to score in the 2nd half, this could work out okay.

These commentators suck a big one. Holy cow are they bad. I thought some of the mid-week MAC football guys were bad but jeesh..how do they get these gigs? This guy just compared Comer coming out limping to Willis Reed with the Knicks. Are you freaking kidding me? Suck it homers.

4 Bean technical FTs to pull within 10 and then Stevie jacks up an off-balance 25 footer.

Man do we look SMALL. Not necessarily in height, but in bulk. We look like the JV team out there at half the positions on the floor.

Get em in the weight room Saul!

That is about as stupidly played a game as I've seen from us in quite some time. We didn't try to drive and dish once that I can remember. You aren't going to get a lot of open looks if you don't try to break down the defense. We've got some talent but we've got a lot of work to do. Could have definitely used Treg's energy and willingness to take it to the hole tonight.

Comer can play. Love his game. Not that impressed by Thompson.
Thompson must have been reading this message board and got upset.

It looked like Tim Albin drew up some of our plays today. No imagination or movement. A lot of 1 on 1 moves, standing around the perimeter, and chucking up desperate 3's. 62 points on 5 assists. Campbell 1-4 from 3??!

I don't want to see a 3 toss from Campbell rest of the year until he pancake blocks someone in the paint.......

The issue is the "chickens" and the "eggs". Mo needs to be posting up lower. Inlets need to be quicker. This needs to be a drill in practices until happens 'instinctively".

What you expect from a bunch of D2 recruits and walkons? ;-)

All seriousness aside, this was disappointing, but I think in the second half we saw flashes of what this team can be. If K was eligible, I think we win this game. Without him we can be good -- much better than tonight. With him we could be great!

Saul, first order of business:

Establish a rule that no one taller than 6'3" can shoot a three-pointer. There is no reason our three "big men" are jacking up threes.

And tell Stevie he's no DJ. Cut the 25-footer crap. Stevie should only shoot threes when his toes are right behind the line and he's wide open.

Yes there is. Saul said a few weeks ago that he wants Maurice to shoot from outside much more because he has a good outside touch. You are probably right about the other tall guys.

Weird, no one was complaining about the shots when they were going in against Appy State. Eliminate the bad shots, shoot the wide open ones. I have no problem with that. Campbell has a nice looking stroke, I don't mind him shooting the occasional open look.

Nice little run there in the second half... That gives me a lot of confidence in this team despite the outcome. It was a ballgame for a bit after we were buried. Otherwise, the shot selection was absolutely pitiful which starts with our senior guards...they need to be better.

FGCU is dangerous team. Guys had really tough matchups tonight. In the end, this seems like it will be a good team experience. It's what OOC play is all about. Can't wait to watch the full squad (sans Chandler Thomas?) on Tuesday.
