Are there any giveaways for students? Seems like that's the only way to get a decent student turnout any more.
I believe there is free McDonalds.

Reggie Rankin on the broadcast? That's got to bring a bit of good will for the Bobcats.

By far our best defensive effort of the year and hopefully a sign of things to come.

17 assists and just 9 turnovers. We outrebounded them by 1 too. Real good defensive effort overall. Hall got his, but we shut down everyone else. Campbell 28 points was huge. Look what happens when you feed the BIG MANZ. Wadley with highlight reel dunk. Simmons just one turnovers and a boatload of assist again. Setty was sensational in the second half. Big play after big play. Entire team made an impact on this game. Beat the MAC's best team. Real good week for the Bobcats. Back to even in the MAC.

Great to see the students show up. We have lost our home field advantage over the last 2-3 years. Thanks JC and JG. We will get back to the norm.

Everyone played well.

So few turnovers.

We don't strike me as all that talented. But as long as we play with great effort we can compete. Looking good for following years as Saul gets his groove.

OHIO totally works as a brand. Tom Boeh is not loved here but the move away from OU or Ohio U to OHIO was a terrific one.

Nice crowd tonight !! .. community wasn't in full effect due to the late game .. the OZONE was solid !!

This could be the kind of game the rights the ship .. If the BOBCATS could win these next 2 at home (akron and northern illinois) .. things could really get rollin' ..

we'd love to see you in the roundhouse diamond cat !!

BANG !! .. oh baby what a BIG TIME win !!

I kept waiting for the double-digit lead to disintegrate, but it just didn't happen. And by the time we got to under 4 min, I actually felt like we had it under control. Granted, Kent was hurting badly at the guard position tonight, and they're going to have real problems going forward. But we played D tonight like we haven't all season. Holding them to 23 in the first half was amazing. Really fun watching.

I couldn't tell for sure from the telecast - is the student section still doing that bit where they chant "O-H-I-O-U" at the end of a song? I know I shouldn't criticize enthusiasm, but that one always makes me cringe a bit. The "U" is superfluous.

In regards to the debate about evening games, even on a Friday night--count me in as liking a few weekend night games sprinkled in throughout the season. Obviously I'd prefer Saturday at 7pm, but I like the atmosphere and energy vs. all 2pm starts. Glad the community and students came through!

On ESPN - Vs 1st place team - and under 7K = "came through"?

To
I am confused. What did jg do in that scenario? I think dragon, shab and some others may need to weigh in on jg and his involvement with the ozone compared to tos, jc et al

RS--you are correct in that I did not check the official attendance, neither did I do a head count. From a purely subjective point of view I simply felt the energy in the building, noticed my section was the fullest it's been all season and personally had a great night. I had fun and enjoyed the game and the fan experience.

I watched the recording later this evening. What just happened? Defense like we haven't seen all year and stellar, at times, inside play. If that could be repeated with better shot selection, we could actually be a contender. It is very encouraging to see that good defense is a possibility. I just have to guard against being too optimistic going forward.

Last year was not so good. Much of this year has been hit or miss. So there was not a predicate to expect the fan base to be wildly excited about tonight.

All in all, watching on TV, the crowd was quite good...into the game for the most part.

Objectively looked at, the crowd acquitted itself pretty well.

Tonight worked.

There's zero reason that weekends should be 2pm only. Make a couple special games that are 7pm by OUR Departments design.

Not to digress.... As i always try to understand each word written here.... I got the crowd aquitting itself but i am failing to understand the use of "predicate" http://www.thefreedictionary.com/predicate easier to understand what you're trying to say if i don't have misunderstood words here. And yes, i am one of those who still reads posts from Monroeville assiduously

For a weekend against a MAC leader, that was small crowd, probably 4500-5k actually in the house. But the decibels generated was higher than the combined three prior home games I have attended.

Get these next two games and get some buzz going, the numbers will be there.

Monroe, you better be careful. You actually said something I agree with. That stupid U we throw up on that song drives me insane. Every time we fail to assert ourselves as an institution regarding OHIO as a brand, it drives me nuts.

But everyone already knows that.

Doc,...maybe not used correctly...I meant a base. Given how this season has gone, the crowd last night was reasonable in size and, from what I could hear on TV, very much into the game.

The good news is that we gave them a very nice performance...So, hopefully that's a base which ups attendance from this point on.

p.s. that's kind of you. even i don't read my stuff.
