I'm not very happy to see the insults directed at Isaiah Johnson. The young man has had a good career at Akron, including in some games vs Ohio. If that's all ya got its pretty sad.

It's a shame we didn't get to see svelte Tony match up against Fat Dog this season. I was looking forward to seeing that matchup. I imagined their initial pleasantries on the court would go something like this:

LOL, seems our comments on the weight issues of a certain Akron forward have hit a nerve on the Akron board. Apparently, they feel that they've taken the high road all these years. That's unintentional comedy of the highest level. It would take me less than five minutes to find worse comments on their board. The Hipsher family says you should always take the high road.
On a serious note, SuperSize Dog is a skilled player. He can shoot, great passer...can you imagine if he were in shape? It's a little shocking to me that the training staff up there never got him in shape in 4 years.
You make a really good point.

Don't worry Jeff he'll probably go for 20 and 15 and shut us up pretty quickly.

It really is all we have. The dude has abused us for a long time, and he has grown into a really good passer. He could easily go off tomorrow.

Without poking fun (which would be particularly rich coming from a doughy middle-aged dude), I echo others who wonder just how good he could have been if he was in better shape.

This is one of my favorite fun pranks in sports when someone left a cheeseburger on third base for umpire Eric Gregg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIQOtm5NaeY

Start at around minute 14 to hear an interview with SP about Akron.

I think what's truly sad is that a division 1 athletic staff either did not or could not get an incredibly talented player in better condition. Look at the progression a guy like Campbell went through here. Even before this year he improved a lot physically through his junior year, and he took it to another level this year. Johnson looks like he just kept doing curls with Big Gulps followed by whole pizzas. If that observation and my alliteration of it troubles you, then maybe some thicker skin needs to be grown on your part.

All I know is the dude went to the NCAAs and has dominated us.

Wow! I am so shocked that we are involved ( according to the bookmakers ) in a toss up game against the undefeated Zips. I knew that we would be hungry after the debacle at Central. Mich. I predicted last night that we would be getting 6.5 pts.
This doesn't mean that I was wrong on the outcome, but it certainly means that the smart money in Vegas us expecting us to give a monstrous effort.
Damn, I hope they are right.

Agreed. Although I don't think the "insults" are mean-spirited, just some bantering. Many message boards you will see far, far worse.

I remember going to Oxford on Charlie Coles day and watching the Bobcats get handed a double digit loss. A couple weeks later they won by 30 at the Convo, team was hitting on all cylinders.

Here's hoping Akron gets to experience something close to that today. Our fellas are gonna be primed for a big showing methinks.

Wasn't there a pre-season thread about Akron and how more than a few people thought the Zips were going to be way down this year? All I know is we are talking about an Akron team that had the #1 team in the country on the ropes with 7 minutes left in the game. With that said, Vegas has this as a pick 'em game? Something is very, very fishy here with that line. 90% of the public is on Akron and you know what that usually means. #BleedGreen

Almost as odd as o$u being a 3-pt favorite v. Maryland earlier this week. . . Almost.

As much as it pains me, time change of game matched up with a big competition my daughter has today. No problem I thought as I'll just watch it online at her event. Downloaded CBS Sports Ap and you need to be a Frontier or Cox subscriber. You kidding me? Ugh. Is it legal for anyone to give me that info so I can watch?

Given how the crowd size looks on TV, looks like the time change messed with about 5,000 people.

Ohio was up 7 with 2 min to go, three straight 5 second possessions where first pass heaved a three.

Saul called TO before 4th possession and we got a nice set play that led to a foul on a drive to the rim.

Still up 7 with 21.2 to go

Like I said...fishy line. Vegas sucked in that Akron cash today. There is a reason why they have those big buildings in Sin City. The CBS announcers can stop talking about Akron as an at-large bid candidate. Gotta win it Cleveland now Dambrot. And one last thing...Isaiah Johnson is definitely 43 years old. #BleedGreen

Big meltdown by mutiple Zips last 20 seconds.

Dambrot needs to work on his big guys not stretching out their arms palms up after fouls called on them. What a bunch of whiny complainers

Pete Gillen said it "win with class, lose with class".
