Didn't Tenerowicz, another walk-on, jump in the portal a year or two ago? Did he end up anywhere at all or just leave basketball? I'm curious if Corna will be able to come back to Ohio if he tests the waters and doesn't find a new home.
I thought I remembered Tenerowicz going to John Carroll or something? I know Luke Frazier transferred there.
Tenerowicz went to Tiffin

Updated with new transfers. IJ not being in the portal and off the roster I think means he simply was kicked off due to grades or opted out himself. Wiz also not being on roster I think means he decided to not use his extra year.

Good because Wiz was absolutely terrible.

Until the program officially announces it, I will stay calm. I find it odd he wouldn’t take part in Senior day ceremony if he was done.

A nation waits.

He is missing from the roster so I assume he is gone. Must mean a big man is coming.

Revolving door at Central continues. Paul McMillan in the portal. Had already transferred from NJIT. Thought he was in a good situation in Mt. Pleasant.

I feel like Sparks' and Ali Ali's situations are good ones for coaches like Boals to use with players on the fence about leaving. I guess you could add Jason Carter to that mix, also. It's not to say nobody should transfer, but I think it has to be important to show possible transfers that these guys left and came back. That grass isn't always greener on the other side.

And just like that... the Xavier (former North Texas) big is in the portal.

I think its important that the transferring player understands that their new coach is not going to display much (if any) loyalty. Their program is most likely taking them from a lower conference as a low risk flyer and to provide bench depth. There seems to be very few situations where transferring up is going to be a better option unless said player is ok with less playing time. Maybe they are ok with less playing time if it means they get that check signed.

Two obvious success stories are Sears and Ray J Dennis (Toledo to Baylor). I would say most others out of the MAC have been unsuccessful, without doing much research. Somebody else can probably add more if there are any.

Watching how the other MAC programs are getting crushed by the portal right now, it's quite remarkable that only Corna is in for now for Ohio. I'm assuming Reef is weighing his options, but it looks good hopefully that we are getting another year from AJ Brown, Clayton and James.

Kevin Miller started all 35 games at Wake Forest and averaged 15.6 ppg as a Soph this year after leaving CMU.

Curtis Jones from Buffalo transitioned pretty well to Iowa State. Not a star like Sears and Dennis, but chipping in 11ppg.

Ball State's Jaylin Anderson in the portal. Ouch.

Ball State might be the most frustrating program to be a fan of in the MAC. Constantly kicked in the dick.

BVP did well for himself at UVa.

Jaylin Sellers, Ball St., averaged a team-high 15.9 points at UCF.

Noah Farrakhan, EMU, stared 5 games and averaged 7.7 ppg at WVU.

I like the coach at Ball St., but he seems to be hit the hardest by the portal year over year. Him and the coach at NIU. Oh, and the one at CMU. And UT and Kent this year. And, . . . .

I'd consider that a successful move upwards, maybe he disagrees but averaging double digit points is success in my opinion.

Doesn't this imply strongly that he was under some disciplinary protocol at Ohio, either imposed by Boals, or some "higher up." In this case, it would seem, the silence speaks volumes.

Ouch. If they all go, Toledo might be getting gutted.

Also, what a recruiting pitch to tell current guys to look around the MAC. Toledo could be pressing reboot. Akron graduates 4/5 starters. Kent made a run but were not a good team and their best player is in the portal. If the band stays together here, and add a piece or two in the portal, the MAC is ours to lose.

The Ball board says it's no secret Coach Lewis is really an old-school tough love coach. Hard to find guys that are great culture fits, I imagine. Not hard to dangle a bag at their good players.

Bass was in a good position in Mt Pleasant. Change is inevitable.
