ATHENS – John Richardson’s 37-yard field goal as time expired spoiled Ohio’s homecoming and gave Northern Illinois a 39-36 victory Saturday at Peden Stadium.

Ohio built a 21-10 halftime lead before Northern Illinois took over in the third quarter. The teams then traded scores in the fourth quarter, with Shane Hooks’ 47-yard touchdown catch from Nathan Rourke tying the game at 36. But the Bobcats left too much time for a Huskies offense they could not stop in the second half.

AMHERST, N.Y. – After missing a 52-yard field goal in the fourth quarter by the slimmest of margins, Louis Zervos gave Ohio a 21-20 walk-off overtime win over Buffalo with a simple extra point Saturday at UB Stadium.

O’Shaan Allison’s 5-yard touchdown run tied the game at 20 after the Bulls began the extra period by scoring on Kyle Vantrease’s 3-yard run. But freshman kicker Jackson Baltar, who also missed a pair of field goals in the game, was wide on the extra point, giving Ohio the chance...

Gaines was wide open on the third-down play after Green rolled to his left and caught the ball with plenty of room to avoid one defender between him and the end zone. The extra point was missed off the left upright, but it did not...

Dealing with an illness, Rourke was 15 of 27 passing for 177 yards but was a non-factor in the running game, netting negative-43 yards on nine attempts. Pittsburgh had six tackles for loss.
